They might have been good ports, but the games still came out months after the 360 and PS3 versions.

The PS4 and XBO ports also come out months or years after the 360 and PS3 versions... doesn't keep them from selling well.

Many WiiU owners have multiple consoles.

Sure they have if they are interested in third party games... that happens if the owner of the Wii and Wii U platform ain't pursuing good relations to third parties for many years and has a "build it and they will come" attitude.

Yes they do.

Funny how titles like DMC and dark souls 2 would probably sell better on Wii U than ps4/x1, even without reaching ps360 numbers.

Neither. Just a deep hate for the WiiU.

No hate, I just accept what Wii U is. Its the machine for those who want Nintendo games and maybe a few gems here and there. Its not the place people should go for lots of 3rd party games. 3rd parties got behind Wii U, it had some of the biggest IPs, but it was mostly an abysmal failure. Excuses aside, thats what happened.

Vita did a better job pushing core western titles and that support died as well. I bought a Vita with NO anticipation of great support coming. I just wanted to dabble in what Vita does offer.

"3rd parties got behind Wii U, it had some of the biggest IPs, but it was mostly an abysmal failure"

lol so funny. wii u had SOME half assed support and the games sold acordingly. Oh, here are some ps4/x1 games released late like wii u ports. Acording to you, must be below abysmal failures.

Oh, I forgot, if it's not AC or COD on wii u it doesn't count, right?

You are one obvious troll/hater/both and it's pretty pointless to try and deny it.

Well lets see how Zombi does on the PS4 and XB1, then...

How Zombi does is not a reflection of potential 3rd party sales on those platforms.

ZombiU did pretty good for Wii U because it was a launch title with a big push. But did other core games do those numbers on Wii U? Not really.

Meanwhile core games have sold millions on PS4 and X1 quite regularly. Wii U has multi million sellers but those are very different than what appeals to the Playstation and Xbox audience.

Hence, the people that buy Wii U are generally looking for something different. Also, Wii U ports would be vastly inferior than 8th gen counterparts. Thats another reason they wouldnt sell well.

more denial and trolling everywhere.

"How Zombi does is not a reflection of potential 3rd party sales on those platforms."

how late ports sell on wii u doesn't reflect potential 3rd party sales either.

"Meanwhile core games have sold millions on PS4 and X1 quite regularly"

pfff I don't know what's cuter, calling those titles "core" or that ps4/x1 regularly had million sellers. outside of EA, Activision and ubisoft, the vast majority of games sell average or less (500k or less), JUST LIKE WII U.

"Hence, the people that buy Wii U are generally looking for something different. Also, Wii U ports would be vastly inferior than 8th gen counterparts."

nope again.

That's the thing. If major IPs can't be successful on Wii U even when they launch at the same time as other platforms, there was little hope of core 3rd party games ever doing well on Wii U.

What if all ports of late games bombed on Wii U but games that released at the same time on Wii U sold well. That would atleast give the impression Wii U's wants current releases and not late ports. But in reality, basically all core games on Wii U bombed whether on time or late. That's when 3rd parties decided to cut their losses on Wii U.

Remasters on 8th gen consoles generally haven't done well. But the Xbox and Playstation audience have actually shown interest in core games. We can't say the same about the Wii U audience. Which is fine, this tells me the Wii U audience is simply different than the average Playstation and Xbox user. And if the Wii U was more reasonably priced for a casual console, it would have been more successful.

In my opinion, a Nintndo home console should not be more than $200. Especially if they are going to keep pushing dated specs.

oh my, amazing how you keep the troll act even after the truth is shoved in your face.

there's no ""If major IPs can't be successful on Wii U even when they launch at the same time as other platforms, there was little hope of core 3rd party games ever doing well on Wii U." especially when "major" ips didn't release on wii u on equal terms (marketing/date/anouncement date...) to other consoles and a franchise sales doesn't affect other franchises. if your crazy logic was true, other wii u titles should be selling 10% of what AC or cod did, but many titles from many genres easily outsold them.

But I guess there's no point in continuing arguing, since you know I'm right.

Many core games outsold CoD and AC? No, but maybe a few.

Original Wii ports of CoD were significantly worse and sold significantly better, even when late. The difference was original Wii had more core users than Wii U. The Wii U lacks a core audience but it still moves 1st party and casual fairly games well.

Hence, I look at reality. And its not realistic to expect 3rd parties to invest more in the failed platform that is Wii U.

bolded: that are looking for first party content exclusively, see? it's not that difficult to understand.  Those who want third party content, either have a ps4, xb1 or pc.  This is why third party games don't have a chance in a Wii U console.  Stop the denial and accept that the only one living in a alternate reality is you.

Oh, you came to help your troll friend with more trolling? ok.

It's very funny for nintendo haters to mention wich fanbases are looking for what when nintendo fans buy all kinds of games while most ps4/x1 users buy almost exclusively generic fps/soccer and random action games (mostly annual franchises).

When I look at top sellers on X1 and PS4 I see numerous FPS games (CoD, Destiny, Titanfall, Halo, BF, etc.), GTAV, Assassin's Creed, Forza, Driveclub, Shadowof Mordor, Batman:AK, NBA, NFL, FIFA, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat, Last of Us, Infamous Dragon Age, Bloodborne, and other games.

When I see the Wii U top selling games I see... Mario, Mario, Nintendo Land, Mario, Mario, Luigi, Wii U party, Zelda, Splatoon, Donkey Kong. All of which are Nintendo games.

You know what this tells me? Wii U owners are buying the Wii U to play Nintendo games. And that's just fine, Wii U owners are clearly buying that console for a reason. Not sure why that upsets you.
