It's very funny for nintendo haters to mention wich fanbases are looking for what when nintendo fans buy all kinds of games while most ps4/x1 users buy almost exclusively generic fps/soccer and random action games (mostly annual franchises).

When I look at top sellers on X1 and PS4 I see numerous FPS games (CoD, Destiny, Titanfall, Halo, BF, etc.), GTAV, Assassin's Creed, Forza, Driveclub, Shadowof Mordor, Batman:AK, NBA, NFL, FIFA, Dead Rising 3, Watch Dogs, Minecraft, Mortal Kombat, Last of Us, Infamous Dragon Age, Bloodborne, and other games.

When I see the Wii U top selling games I see... Mario, Mario, Nintendo Land, Mario, Mario, Luigi, Wii U party, Zelda, Splatoon, Donkey Kong. All of which are Nintendo games.

You know what this tells me? Wii U owners are buying the Wii U to play Nintendo games. And that's just fine, Wii U owners are clearly buying that console for a reason. Not sure why that upsets you.
