Forums - Gaming Discussion - Tomb Raider Xbox exclusivity: Square knew it would disappoint fans - decision wasn’t easy

Such bullshit. It wasn't a long term decision at all unless whay he's saying is that every TR game for the next several iterations will be timed Xbox exclusive, which means a substantial cash influx over several years. If RoTR is the only timed exclusive then it's about as short term thinking as it's possible to be.

I HATE "take it to the next level", such a stupid phrase.

It was a tough decision until the first installment of "passion" cleared the accounts receivable.

Lets see. You get MS to fund development, advertisement and you still get to release the game on other platforms. Really do not see a problem here. If the game is good it will sell fine. It will have long legs and have a steady flow of sells. MS might even bundle it with the console for those TR fans on fence.

Development was already funded by MS so the publisher does not have to get a return on investment on first month sales. Seems a lot of you are making a big deal of the situation without looking at the complete picture. Even for PS4 gamers who have to wait a whole year will probably get the game of the year addition with all the DLC and other crap.

When all is said and done, if TR is a AAA game with then it will not have any trouble making its money all the while having MS fund the project and advertise it.

Wonder how many PS4 owners that will buy this game pre-owned because of this? Personally this is not a game that i would prioritize, because there are so many other good titles being released in the same periode as this game anyway, and i bet it will be the same next year, plus that this game will not have that major marketing backing next year as now.

He can spin it any way he wants, we all know it's nothing more than greed.

He better know that the game will bomb hard and will be long-term.

Well Square, good luck with this game sale wise. Two weeks after Halo 5, one week after Black Ops 3, same day as Fallout 4 and one week before Battlefront, and fuck knows what they'll have to battle Holiday 2016 on PS4.

Yea a lot of stuff for xbox gamers. I also feel like this sort of game just isn't for the xbox audience maybe I'm wrong will see. I'm glad it's getting pushed back to early 2016 on steam I have to much other stuff to play at the end of the year.

I think its about time to move on because the PR seems to be doing more harm rather than good.

Day 1 GOTY

well if it harm MS then it a good thing! MS will think twice before trowing cash to restrain fan of the serie to play the game on they favorite console!
