Ok. I am not trying to flame or blast anyone with this post ...

I finally started playing Resistance on my PS3. After playing the game for nearly 4 hours, I have to admit I walked away from it thinking 'Is that it?' I have played Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3, as well as Gears O War, Bioshock, Call of Duty 2 and COD 4 and other shooters and I can honestly say, as a FPS fan, Resistance is a very forgetable title.

All this time, I have been hearing folks brag on it,  saying it was better than Gears and truth be told, I see elements of the game that are cool - that tagging bullet thing is legit and the enemies are intense, but I dropped the controller and just had to ask OWNERS and folks who have experience with the game what's up with it.

Ok - as I stated, I'm not trying to flame, but I want to know what makes folks say this game is *all that?*

For a 1st gen PS3 title that is a new IP and was rushed for the EU launch i think it was good for that! The game made me rekindle my love for FPS games, and due to that i'm very looking forward to the 2nd one :D

Its better than Gears of War. I have a friend with only 360, and he admits he likes res better than gears.

Yes it may not be as revolutionary as Goldeneye, or as graphically amazing as uncharted or CoD4, but its a very fun game.

I have played it and it is good for what it is. Nothing special but dam fien no the less. Some cool things in there. Res2 should be a GOW killer.

lol i hve to admit also. after playing call of duty i almost never played resistance.

resistance is a good game. but it was a rushed game, also a brandnew IP for a console thats "hard" to develop for.

resistance 2 will be much better.

Yeah it might kill Gears but by that time Gears 2 will be out so its a little late.... I don´t get why everybody thinks great games get killed by other games ??? Do you think 360 owners will sell their console to buy a PS3 for Res2 and KZ2 ??? Will gameing sites give Gears2 a bad score because it got killed by Res2 ??? I think poeple just envy the succsess of games on other consoles so they pretent a future game will kill it. So the 360 doesn´t have a MGS4 killer... so what ???

I don't think many people are making such a big deal about Resistance 1. It scored 86% on gamerankings so it is a very good game. The big deal is being made about Resistance 2. With 60 online multiplayer and 8 player co-op (and amazing graphics), it is shaping up to be one of the best FPS of the generation so far.

Thats what happend when you play a game with completely different gameplay, and crappy graphics than call of duty 4. Also you cant beat resistance in only 4 hours, the game is about 16 hours long.

What I like about resistance is that the game starts off dull and boring, but as you go on and continue the story begans to catch you at a very slow rate, and the gameplay starts improving, basicly gets better as you go on through the campaign. The last couple of battles are amazing, in the chimeran tower, thats the best most epic area I have ever played in any video game.

Gears of War, maybe, but soona fter its' release, it'll have to keep up with Gears of War 2.  Just like Killzone was 'teh Halo killzorz' until Halo 2 came out.

@Leo: Ever played Gears?  It's 8-10 hours long.

Resistance 2 does look very promising, too.

Not currently... but a few months back... conviently before Uncharted and COD4 came out people were talking it up like all get out.

I think it wass just because for a long time it was the best "shoot a lot of people up" game not staring a furry on the PS3 so it got elevated to being "Really awesome" to compensate for the 360's better FPS.

Then COD4 came out, and PS3 owners got a really good FPS.
