Forums - Microsoft Discussion - There never was a 360 shortage. Proof? eBay.

I don't know I saw a used one at a flea market today for 375 dollars with no Hard drive. That seems like supply and demand prices

How many more of these repetitive threads are we going to have? And to clue some people in there were shortages for awhile but they basically ended sometime near the beginning of March. It's the middle of March now so please move on.

Anyone else feels like PS3 fanboys are turning into Fox News?

 Lulz. were getting back at you for all those biased and annoying CNN comparsins you guys were making after ps3 was launched

Why are people selling broken 360s?
People wanna get out with a little $$ I guess...seems like the harder question is, why are people (sometimes) buying broken 360s?
If it's under warranty, then you just got yourself a cheap 360 with a time delay to delivery.

So why don't the sellers get them fixed so they can charge more.

Bah, PS3 is to CNN as 360 is to Fox News.  Fox felt like it was all that for a while, but people seem to be coming around.

PS3 is SF/NY/LA, and 360 is, like, Houston, or somewhere that overheats spontaneously.

 Probably because they are lazy OR it's a modded console, in which case it would actually cost them money to send it to a random pirate shop to get it fixed.

@Loud Hot White Box:

1) Demand for 360 is not as great as that of the Wii, shortages aren't extreme to the point where you could buy out a stores 360's and selling them on ebay for a profit. That applies to buying from other countries aswell, because the 360 experienced a very minor shortage here in Australia.

2) gebx is right, most would have probably ended up in the PS3 camp because of that

3) Your an fool with no actually facts at all. You make assumptions based on another console and think that they can be applied universally. E.g PS3 60gb, when Sony first announced they were ceasing production, prices on ebay spiked, why? not because there was not enough to go around there was still plenty of "dead stock" going around, but because people were panicking to try and get a hold of one, they paid for the spike. Does that mean the PS3 is extremely valuable and was hard to find? 60gb would be later on, but at that initial spike, they weren't hard to find at all.

4) You are just another sony fanboy who can't handle the fact that the other two consoles are barely producing as much as they can sell (more so the wii then the 360). Are we going to believe a random troll or are we going to believe the game companies themselves (notice sony hasn't mentioned shortages?) who say there are shortages and forum users who have actually been here for a while that are experiencing these shortages and have some credibility?

Please USE your time in the SONY forum discussing the PS3, rather than WASTING it trying to bring down the 360. Many have tried before you with better "proof", all have failed.

Your above 2 points are the only ones worth responding to.  Responses below.

1.  PS3 eBay prices probably would have seen a corresponding increase then, if that were right.  Not sure that that has happened.  If you want to show it, cool, just produce the data.

2. MS used the shortage excuse to cover up lower-than-expected sales.  Why would Sony mention shortages to "cover up" their higher-than-expected sales?  Right; it wouldn't make any sense, either.

 BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! SO TRUE

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

@gebx and CAL4M1TY

Do you honestly believe there were shortages? Really? Why is it that these "shortages" didn't pop up in the news until AFTER we found out that the PS3 outsold the 360. Why is it that there were "shortages" even though if you went to Best Buy/Amazon/Gamestop/etc.com, there was always full stock? Why is it that everyone here says there have always been Elites/Pros/Halo Editions at there local stores, to which you can only rebutt "that's only from your location" even though people from VGC are from ALL OVER THE WORLD?

It's kind of like that bet that Jack Tretton made after the PS3 launched, "If you can find a PS3, I'll pay you $1200" If Bill Gates pulled that move, he would have been paying millions.....upon millions

And it seems as though you Xbox fans are the ones that are closer to Fox News, because you want people to buy into crap....exactly what Fox does

/rant over

Who'd buy a 360 on e-Bay with no warranty or any proof of it working properly? And it's not like they are in launch type shortages. It's someone looking for a specific SKU at a specific time that are striking out, not like nationwide gaps. Being undersupplied doesn't necessarily mean they are rare or impossible to find. It just means that people not be able to walk into their closest store and immediately find exactly what they want.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?
