Why are people selling broken 360s?
People wanna get out with a little $$ I guess...seems like the harder question is, why are people (sometimes) buying broken 360s?
If it's under warranty, then you just got yourself a cheap 360 with a time delay to delivery.

So why don't the sellers get them fixed so they can charge more.

 Probably because they are lazy OR it's a modded console, in which case it would actually cost them money to send it to a random pirate shop to get it fixed.

@Loud Hot White Box:

1) Demand for 360 is not as great as that of the Wii, shortages aren't extreme to the point where you could buy out a stores 360's and selling them on ebay for a profit. That applies to buying from other countries aswell, because the 360 experienced a very minor shortage here in Australia.

2) gebx is right, most would have probably ended up in the PS3 camp because of that

3) Your an fool with no actually facts at all. You make assumptions based on another console and think that they can be applied universally. E.g PS3 60gb, when Sony first announced they were ceasing production, prices on ebay spiked, why? not because there was not enough to go around there was still plenty of "dead stock" going around, but because people were panicking to try and get a hold of one, they paid for the spike. Does that mean the PS3 is extremely valuable and was hard to find? 60gb would be later on, but at that initial spike, they weren't hard to find at all.

4) You are just another sony fanboy who can't handle the fact that the other two consoles are barely producing as much as they can sell (more so the wii then the 360). Are we going to believe a random troll or are we going to believe the game companies themselves (notice sony hasn't mentioned shortages?) who say there are shortages and forum users who have actually been here for a while that are experiencing these shortages and have some credibility?

Please USE your time in the SONY forum discussing the PS3, rather than WASTING it trying to bring down the 360. Many have tried before you with better "proof", all have failed.
