Forums - Movies & TV - Comic book movies are getting played out!!

I just want a good Superman movie again. Superman 1 and 2... especially 2... were epic. Ever since then, it's just.. meh.. or garbage.

Nah, man, they won't get played out for another 4-5 years at least.

To me this is justice to all the people that said comic book was bad when I was growing up in the 80's and 90's. Now they are eating crow. Lol!

I don't mind them. Apart from the spider-man films, I'm not really invested in any other super hero movies and the ones which I do watch ( Ounce they've been out for a while ) are quite enjoyable ( Talking about Thor and Thor 2 ). I'm really excited for the new fantastic four movie though, I think it looks pretty good from the trailer and the first two movies while not masterpieces, were quite fun to watch.

I find many superhero movies boring (incl. some of the most popular ones) but I love Guardians of the Galaxy.

GotG was a great movie (even) for people who can't stand superhero movies.

Comic book movies are getting so cliche these days. Batman is my favorite comic book character of all time, but how many versions of batman do we need. You could also say the same thing for spiderman. There remaking the fantastic four. I mean serioulsy, that movie looks just as bad as the previous two. You also have antman, the avenger movies, the dead pool movie is getting some hype, then you also have the batman vs superman hype. I've never seen a comic book based T.V. show, but those shows are also getting played out. You have arrow, gotham, the flash show, the dare devil one,I've seen that superman girl is suppose to come out at some point,I'm sure there's more T.V. shows, but I'm more of a movie person. I mean enough already!!!!!!! What's next Aqua man!!!!!! Handi-cap man!!!! The incredible little person man!!!!! obesity man!!!! Come on,enough already!!!

Are you intrested in all those characters? That is the reason their are so many. I don't watch Thor or Captain American movies. Because I'm not interested in the characters. You don't have to watch them all. Even with them being tied together. I still understood Avengers plot. But I will watch other ones. They're so many. Because they're so many stories to tell. Having a lot doesn't mean bad. That would be moreso towards remakes and or forced bad sequals. They're made becase they know a character/team can work. Has a fanbase that loves them etc. Out of the current movies/shows. I want to see Antman, Batman V Sup, Flash, and Supergirl.

Fox with Fantastic Four. You have more of an argument. It was only made, so the rights didn't revert back to Marvel. And is gonna be bad. I'd be happy if more movies where made. There are a few other characters I would like to see. New Gods, another Hulk, She-Hulk, A second Avengers team movie. John Stewert Green Lanturn.

Speak for yourself.  There are so many avenues that can be explored in the comic book realm.  I'm loving every one that comes out!

They aren't reading them however.

On the topic, as a comic fan, I approve of the films but also do not approve of the idea that one film franchise has to better the next. The Avengers films were fun but nothing special while Cap 2 was amazing. I'm not sure however, how long it can really continue. Starting to get a little off by the constant interlocking of the films and would kinda prefer each character to stand on their own, even if other characters appear.

Hmm, pie.

I find superhero movies boring too. I'll give GotG a go. Any other superhero movies that you want to recommend?

I thought Ant-Man was OK but yeah superhero fatigue is starting to kick in for me. Almost completely forgot everything about the Avengers.

I will still check out Batman Vs. Superman, but I think Jurassic World showed people are hungry for non-superhero blockbusters. I think Star Wars if its decent will demolish the box office.
