Anybody saying this game looks any better than an early 360 title is really trying too hard to make the game seem like less of a turd than it is. No, the game does not look good. No, it does not look better than any AAA title that came out more than two years into last gen when developers were still fumbling around with the hardware and HD game development in general.
Otherwise, this is clearly some misguided attempt at hyping up the last possible redeeming feature the game could possibly have for most people. I don't actually recommend listening to Itagaki though. He's made it clear that he has no idea what's been going on with this game. I'm starting to believe he's just the social media voice who hasn't taken part in even a little bit of the development process. He was obviously lost when the NA publishing debacle came up, which technically still isn't resolved on a public level. He claimed the game would look way different from E3 2014, and it doesn't. He says the gamepad is a bad controller to play the game, but to me that indicates he hasn't actually played the game on a Wii U. Ever. And finally, 30 FPS? lol. I've watched gameplay. Even with one enemy on the screen in single player, the framerate still dips noticeably.
