It's not up to where Capcom decide to put it, they're not a charity. It'll go to the most successful handheld system so probably NX or whatever

Cross Platform with Nintendo's next handheld being the main platform.
With sony giving up on the Vita and MH being primarily a handheld franchise, theres no real competition for Nintendo to waste much money on securing exclusivity. Seeing as Monster Hunter doesn't do a ton for console sales, let Capcom port it to whatever homeconsoles they want.

Seeing as Sony doesn't own the franchise, it doesn't belong to any console. ; ) Honestly, it should be on as many consoles as possible. It should be something enjoyed by as large a group as possible, and not limited to one particular group.

Bring the Game finally back to were it belongs. On Playstation systems!!! A Real Monster Hunter 2 sequel on PS4, combined with a Vita port, this would be the right thing. PS4 and Vitas would fly of the shelves in Japan. I hope Sony is doing something

"Normally, most of the B-teams of the DC Universe should have no problem with either Goku or any other SSJ out there, Gotenks and Vegito included. I think Black Adam would be enough, easily, to end them both. Maybe Booster Gold, if he could stop being a fuck up for a while."

I would not be the least bit surprised if Nintendo did in the same way they did with Fatal Frame. Secure the exclusivity, gain control over where the next game goes. |
Nintendo would be smart to try and get a stake in some of Capcom's franchises if Capcom is currently not doing well
having something like Resident Evil and Monster Hunter guranteed to be in Nintendo's future would be a pretty strong card

Of course they will go where the money is: it was with PSP, then they moved to 3DS. Nintendo willing to push teh series for them has obviously been beneficial. But Capcom doesnt need to give up good money for Nintendo to do that anymore. They can push MH themselves in the West in the future.
We have no idea what the future holds for Nintendo in terms of handhelds. But continuing market shrinking is most likely on the cards and unless they can turn that around in the West, when Capcom will most likely want to expand there, plays a pretty significant role in what Capcom does. I am sure Capcom will stick with Nintendo handheld, but I think you are missing the bigger picture if you think they wont bring the titles to the PS4 in some form of another. They have larger market potential on PS4 than they do on the 3DS or successor in the West. |
generally speaking, for whatever reasons, handheld gamers much prefer Monster Hunter over console gamers. obviously Capcom is going to push Monster Hunter on whatever systems push sales. I think they will push it on the PS4 obviously, at least one title, but in the future I am not entirely sure if Sony will be doing handhelds
we talk about the decreasing handheld market especially with the 3DS compared to DS but look at the PS Vita compared to the PSP, its shocking the difference. Capcom will obviously want Monster Hunter on the next Nintendo portable
The thing is Nintendo is known to be somewhat pushy at times, I would not be shocked that they realize that the Monster Hunter series sort of needs their handheld and that there might be a possibility of them forcing an exclusivity clause

the odds are there is a quiet exclusivity agreement currently that Nintendo has pushed for with Monster Hunter- otherwise there is no explanation for the lack of existence of a Monster Hunter game for the PS4 in development
