Honestly, I find it strange that in the age of feminism that people are mandating for all of the female characters to be covered up or outrage.

Well I'm a Christian and that type of thing does not appeal to me the way it might appeal to the rest of the population. And LoL@ at the guy calling sexualization "art".  You literally just make the characters look more provacative and you get more sales.  Playing on basic male sex drive.  I understand that feminism can get crazy, but I'm honestly sick to death of sexualization in media, even with men, but they seem to do it with females 100X more, which is pretty unfair.

since when are christians antisexy? and since when are boobs provocative?

have you never played Dragon Age before? lol

Sexualizing is perfectly fine and I'm sure no one here is complaining about sexualization. But OVER Sexualization when you're doing it just for doing it's sake when there's no need or it's just too much is definitely a bad thing and can grow tiresome pretty quickly.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Most guys enjoy girls and the female body-   If you look at any popular womens mag, it is pretty obvious women appreciate other women/the female body as well (no i don t mean in a romantic/sexual way)

So my question is why would you have a problem w it-  just be mature and either play thru the game or if you don t like the game do t play it-

Virtually every product, service and entertainment incorpoarte some aspects of the opposite sex and or both sexs to sell, entertain etc- some more tastefully than others-    yet only the video games industry in the US?)  and Hooters seems to get critasized for it-

Why are there so many beta males attached attached to the video game world?  ive never seen anything like it

They are using sex to sell, and being a religious person I don't give a crap about seeing porn in my video games like the gen pop does.  It's seriously distasteful most of the time and corny, it literally adds nothing of value but FAP material.  I could go on and on on how this is why video games and other media get a bad rep, but in this case I thought FE was a game (IT WAS BEFORE AWAKENING) that didn't use sex to sell and it's strengths rested on that.

Can no longer say that any longer

I fail to see the problem, if you think the gameplay has changed for the worse blame the developers, not the character designers

I see the game deisgn and the characters as the problem.  It's both the dev team and character designers fault for this

Tora-  I am a Christian also but in no way would i characterize anything in FE "porn"

You must have a HUGE problem with catalogs like Victorias Secret as virtually anyone can get hold of them and they are far more "risque" than FE

But then again for some reason i don t beleive your "religion" has anything to do with your post-  the way you ar eusing it does not sond like a religous person would -   I haave found that the SJWS   are trying to use codewords like"religion" and "puritain"   to do their dirty work because there is so much contradiction in asking for less sexualization in video games -

Strange? As if women might enjoy looking glamorous or sexy.

You're just cherrypicking out the bits that fit your point! When playing in context of the game, it'll be largely unnoticeable. A lot of that stuff is hidden in the optional extras.

And also, look at in proportion to the entire characters rosters. It's really not that bad on the whole:

WRPGs don't have sexualized female characters? Did you not play The Witcher, Mass Effect, or Dragon Age?

I'm not denying that part, but a lot of them don't.

And like I said the point of this thread isn't to call out sexualization in RPGs, I'm just calling it out in this particular RPG which went 20 years without having to resort to these sleezy tactics.

WHY?   there is FAR MORE sexualization in a many prime time (and not prime time) tv programs that are far mor influential (for better or for worse) than any video games-      why woud you not put your energies in that direction than complain about rated video games that are less accesible than tv?

With regards to the Final Fantasy sexualization you have to look at each game in the time period it was created to get a real feel for whether there was sexualization. I think anything prior to FF6 is very tame, largely due to the fact that during that particular era (80s and early 90s) video games were "made for the kids"

One could argue that the naked pink esper form of Terra is overly sexualized, especially in the 90s where we have that "made for kids" mantra for games.

Tifa in FFVII was as sexualized as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. Late 90s when suddenly the "sex sells" mantra started to penetrate (pun absolutely intended) the video game world as well.

Since then, all FF games have had their fan service character here or there, with of course the one exception imo of 9.

I'm fine with it personally.
