I'm not. As a matter of fact, I think it's safe to say that Ant-Man is factual PROOF that we have, without a doubt, hit the over saturation point with super hero moves.
I mean... an Ant? Really? lol

Never?
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Tomorrow night at the Australian (mainstream) launch.
I am pumped. Looks good, and I will watch anything with Paul Rudd in it.

How is it proof of over-saturation in superhero movies? Ant-Man in the Marvel comics is an original Avenger, the founding member no less. If the movie-verse wanted to be truly canonical to the Avengers comic book series Ant-Man would have been the first movie in the series, not the 12th. Arguably it would be a huge disservice to the original material to not have Ant-Man in the movies. But as you are speaking for the vast majority of the population, who are not marvel comic fans, it is understandable that to the uninitiated the idea of an Ant-Man does seem like scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Having seen the movie I think it is a very worthy entry in the series. And I really like that the movie does direct homage to the fact that Ant-man was an original Avenger by giving a fair bit of Hank Pym's backstory.
People gotta make sure to stay right to the end credits because there are two post-scripts in this movie, not one.

Saw it last night and enjoyed it quite a bit! Definitely a worthy entry into the MCU and a great close to Phase 2.
Definitely make sure you wait and see both end credit scenes as well.

That's all I was talking about. The "average" joe. I understand that comic book enthusiasts will enjoy a... comic book based movie that stays true to the source material. But in order for them to be smash hits, they have to appeal to those who don't and have never read a comic book. Ant-Man, is not something that really appeals to people like Supermam,Spiderman,Batman or the Avengers.
And the fact that movie executives actually green lit something like this, KNOWING what I just said, tells me that they're just throwing things at a wall to see what sticks.
I'm not. If it shows up on netflix sometime I might watch it. I'm not really interested in the character.

But that's not true, it's all part of a grand plan, which has been mapped out through to 2019. They planned out the roster of superheroes they want in the phase 3 Avengers movies and how they will introduce them to the movie public. One might ask why Ant-Man gets a solo movie but Falcon, Black Widow and Hawk-eye didn't (actually Hawk-eye and Black Widow could have had a duo movie, but they were needed in earlier movies to fill out the roster for the original Avengers movies). One possible difference is that Ant-Man's tech-powers need a decent amount of explanation to be accepted by the average joe, whereas Hawke-eye, Black Widow and Falcon have oridinary arse-kicking skills and obvious tech that they don't need explanation beyond few scenes. The same is the case with the upcoming solo movies: Black Panther, Dr Strange, Captain Marvel, all of their abilities require more background than just a few scenes thrown in to the current crop of movies.
