That is proof that an early replacement does not automatically mean result in a bad performance.

First system (no expectations), sucessful system and first system again. Not the same case.

It does not mean automatic bad performance in any case, it does when expectations are created and let down. Even for Nintendo standards the Wii U was a system with very little software. There is no chance that consumers are satisfied with what they got and are ready to jump into another system. No consumers trust, no sales.

I think this, combined with the rumors about it, not even matching the PS4s Specks point to the NX being some sort of portable (or possibly the 'Fusion'). In which case the numbers are certainly optimistic, but not entirely impossible or delusional.
