Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Has anyone ever stopped to think Iwata leaving would be terrible for Nintendo?

Seriously, everyone was so caught up in his flaws and never realised he was one of the few people in Nintendo who were keeping the company from going fully mobile like Konami is at the moment. I feel the new CEO could either be very good or extremely terrible for Nintendo. Thoughts?

It's hard to say not know who they are.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

I wish I could vet the next CEO for them. Make sure they pick a suitable replacement. I can't though. I have to trust in their own ability to know what Nintendo's about and to pick someone who understands it.

Only time will tell, its just a gray area right now.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

I wouldn't worry there are a lot of seniors at Nintendo still (Miyamoto, Tezuka, Takeda, ect.) that follows and respect the same beliefs that Iwata had and they are as stubborn as Iwata with the conservative side of the company.

I think Iwata was good CEO, Nintendo certainly will not have CEO that dont suit Nintendo philosophy.

I really hope so.

I don't want Nintendo to get with the stupid ass "times"
Sure, I'd like a more robust online ecosystem among other things, but if that means that Nintendo is going to be another clone in the console race, then I can absolutely do without. honestly, the wii u is the only reason I even still game on newer hardware. The ps4 and X1 are money pits, the games are money pits, they don't hold their value, and the publishers try to rip you off at every turn. I sure as hell don't want Nintendo to turn into something like that. Holy shit, talk about hitting rock bottom and tarnishing your name.
So yes, I hope that whoever succeeds iwata had the same vision for the company and keeps the spirit of Nintendo alive.

So he was so against mobile that under his lead the company would make the first big steps towards mobile? That's some great CEOing right there.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

That's a nice cheeky response that I have come to know you for concerning things related Nintendo, but I am going to just ignore that aspect of what you said in my response and address the content of it in hopes that maybe you can gain better understanding.

yes, under iwatas rule, the company took the biggest step towards mobile ot ever has, but you have to see that it's not the step people necessarily wanted them to make. They wanted Nintendo to go all out, making games for it as if it were it's own platform, but that is not really the approach they are taking. Its being used as more of a tool for advertising than anything. the hope is that when they play this bullshit $0.99 version of splatoon or mario, they will see that there are way better games with dedicated hardware to play them. That's kind of the angle here
