Forums - Nintendo - What is your fondest memory of Iwata and his work at Nintendo?

Just the general Nintendo Directs and his E3 press speeches. So charming, so different from anyone else in the industry.

This describes how I feel perfectly. I also loved his broken english, at least he tried his best every Direct =(

Also, E3 2005 "My name is Iwata" at E3

I just love how he had a hand in the creation of Super Smash Bros. by supporting Sakurai.

I appreciate that he saved the development of Earthbound (Mother 2) and hindered the game from getting canceled. And his gentle and calm way of talking.

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

He brought humor to presentations/directs. He knew how to make things fun.

The paycut he took last year. Helped a lot of Nintendo employees, which can only help us.

bet: lost

The first Nintendo Direct really cemented a face to him as more then just another suit to me.

"You say you want a revolution?"

*pulls out next generation console from his suit coat*

The games he helped create were astounding, the Directs that he led that I always enjoyed, his paycut that he took so that they didn't have to lay anyone off, and his dedication to not only Nintendo but gaming as a whole.

Basically game #3 on my personal Top 5 games of all time, is Kirby's Adventure, which he co-developed with Sakurai and others.

So yeah. I'd say he had a pretty big impact on my childhood, and my gaming tastes.
