Forums - Gaming - Where did this stupid "trend" come from? Game trailer reaction videos?

They existed back in 2013.

That's just cringe to the max.

And that kid at number 7 is so fake it's not even funny anymore, a kid that age will not have any connection to the original Megaman design.

I don't understand how seeing other people being happy or excited can be considered a bad thing. I actually like most react videos and reactors as they aren't as jaded and cynical as most Internet users.

This.

I have no problem with genuine excitement for announcements when it's warranted, but completely overplayed reactions are just annoying and reaction videos like the one I posted in the OP where the dude is essentially just silently watching the trailer are completely pointless to me.

I'm still trying to figure out the 'let's watch anime' channels.

I get game trailer reactions if it's shenmue/ff7/tlg level. I look forward to the day (hopefully) that I get to see a Portal 3 or half life 3 trailer reaction.

Thats exactly the issue. If they just sit there, not "reacting" enough, people wont care. So they overreact. And that is what people want. For example, who seriously believes PewDiePie gets the same reaction out of playing Amnesia for the millionth time? Its an act - but that is exactly what a large number of people want. I find it horrendous, but I'm not gonna go there and try to change their mind or anything.

*edit*

I'm not implying that DerNebel was trying to stop people from enjoying something they like. I'm implying that those videos are shit, and that does not mean that we are all jaded and cynical >.>

Watching porn is a better use of time than watching reaction videos.

I've seen the video and I completely agree.

"stupid trend" but it is okay for FF7?
I don't understand what your point is. If its okay for FF7, then the reason the trend is okay with one game is the reason its okay with everything else, obviously.   At least, that is how it is to others.  But somehow you don't understand.

I don't know where the trend came from but reaction videos can be entertaining.

I think people watch and read reactions and reviews to confirm what they are thinking
