That is what some people call the reintroduction of the series. I guess it isn't as widely used as before. Also he is very similar to the 9th.

IMO he's better than series 6-7 Matt Smith, but worse than series 5. I dunno why Moffat found the need to exaggerate his character traits so much for his last two seasons. He went from a complete joke to completely serious and back again in the blink of an eye...kind of like the show itself, actually. S5 felt more balanced, and the dialogue was steller.

Doctor Who is always a joy to watch, but it hasn't been legitimately great since series 5, IMO, save a few select episodes. Peter capaldi at least breathes some new life into the show, and I feel he plays off of Jenna better than Matt ever did.

He is pretty good but the best girl was not as good in season 8 than in season 7, which led him to be underappreciated.

I'd say he is better than Matt Smith.

He's not as good as tennant. Though that is obvious, cause no one are as good as tennant.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they'll handle the master in series 9. Given how things played out at the end of series 8, another 'the master has a new evil plan!' style plot will feel somewhat out of place, unless it's subtle. Guess we'll find out soon :p

Oh yea! Didn't finish season 8 yet but i'm extremely excited for the new one.

Fucking yes! I'm so excited right now! I'd say that season 8 is one of the best of New Who with season 5. There are some high-quality episodes (Listen, Flatline, Mummy on the Orient Express, Dark Water, Into the Dalek, Kill the Moon, Last Christmas...). And I just love Capaldi, I'd say he's my second favourite Doctor, behind Jon Pertwee.

By the way, I don't think Tennant is THAT good, he's so... human. I like the more alien Doctors (12th, 9th, 4th, 3th...), and Capaldi delivers, he's a breath of fresh air to the show. I can't wait!
