Be happy that you at least get it digital this time and that NOA hasn't decided to skip it like the Fatal Frame 2 remake on Wii.
Retail is of course a problem for niche games like Fatal Frame, because of the low demand. If I were head of NOA I had done a partnership with amazon (or some similar online store) and distributed the retail version exclusively with them.

im not happy for a digital release at all. im not going to play a digital release, therefore it doesnt matter to me. to me, its as if they arent even releasing it at all. even if i did entertain the thought of buying it (assuming the huge amount of space it would take up wouldnt bother me), i cannot support them in purchasing a digital only title that didnt need to be digital only. its bullshit, and im not going to give them anything for it.

Both games will probably release digital only in America.

Well, we know for sure we're getting FFV since they talked about it in the April Direct. Whether it's digital only or physical remains to be seen. As for Devil's Third....well from everything we've heard over the past month or so, it's starting to look like NOA doesn't want to publish this game in North America. We'll see...

Its Nintendo of America, not "Nintendo". NoA and NoE make their own decisions.

There's a rumor going around that they're getting some other party to publish Devil's Third in the west. So I'm sure we'll get it in some form, but for some reason, it might not be from NoA.

NOE are likely the ones localizing Fatal Frame like they have for the others hence the physical release in Europe, NOA never really had an interest in the game much like with the original Xenoblade. Nintendo aren't favouring anyone each region is being handled by their own division and it just happens that NOA are the side who are most erratic while NOE have been quite on point over the last decade.
