Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U games in 2016 that would put NIntendo back on top

hey guys, i was thinking about how Nintendo could revive the Wii U and I have come up with a list of games that, if they announced, would definitely change the tide in who is going to be leading this console race.

So basically, Nintendo needs to come out swingiing as early as about January and announce something like Metroid Prime Trilogy HD Remix, that way all the disheartened metroid fans will be back on board with Nintendo, right off the bat. Also, since Nintendo didn't give the WIi U the proper 3D Mario that everyone wanted, they need to realease Super Mario Galaxy: Universe Edition that way all the Mario fans will be appeased. This would basically rework the first Super Mario Galaxy from the ground up in HD. Also, Zelda fans were left out since they skipped on showcasing Zelda at E3, so they absoultely have to start out the year with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess: Definitive Edition.

So with these three things out of the way, the core fanbase would be taken care of. Next they can release something like Super Nintendo Collection: 10 classic games. This can be 10 SNES games jam packed onto one disc. It could be F-Zero, Zelda 3, Super Metroid, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, and others. At this point, it will be a little over two years since DK's last game, so I think if they remade the first DKC Returns along with Tropical Freeze, they can bundle that into one package, calling it something like King K Rool's Komplete Kollection Rules. Or something like that. This will appease Donkey Kong fans.

Now we can start talking end of the year. Nintendo needs to end it with a bang. That's why around this time they should announce that Mario Kart and Smash Bros have become yearly releases. This way, Nintendo fans will be guaranteed two great games every year. They announce Mario Kart 8 2, and Super Smash Bros for Wii U 2. Those would be giant bombs, and those games coming out simulataneously would move units. There is no way that anybody would be able to compete with that. Especially if they were guaranteed to come out every November. Nintendo also wouldn't be in such a financial predicament because 4 to 6 million people would buy each game more than likely. Thats an extra 10+ million in sales every year, i honestly dont know why they dont do it.

anyways, what do you guys think? is this the plan that could turn the wii u around?

I'm glad this is a joke thread.

what makes you say that? dont you want nintendo to be back on top? they need to get with the times and do whats popular.

Some of these ideas would be good for the next console, but I think it is too late for the Wii U.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

It's too late to do that for the Wii U. You and I know Nintendo won't do that. Maybe in the next Nintendo console but I don't blame you, it's healthy to dream sometimes.

They need to announce collaborations with the likes of Blizzard to bring big games that were formerly only playable/better played on PC. Games like DOTA 2, World of Warcraft, Starcraft 2, Civilization etc. They could all be ports, but that would open the industry's eyes to the real potential of the gamepad. It's a pity that even Nintendo hasn't realized this yet.

you know, in all seriousness, thats actually true. if nintendo were able to do something like that with blizzard to create games that arent really possible to make on other consoles, that would have definitely opened up the industry's eyes to the potential of the gamepad. but instead, it wont ever get another chance because everyone thinks its a joke. i mean, obviously there is huge potential there, but nintendo didnt do a good job proving that it could be an asset for the industry.

Wii U wont be able to be on top but if they release Zelda by March and show a trailer soon so people understand that it is indeed coming only to Wii U they can still save the system from total failure.
