Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Project Cars Wii U will likely not happen - developers hate Nintendo fans

Project CARS has been a contentious topic for Nintendo fans lately, as the Wii U version that was promised to backers in the original Kickstarter for the game will not happen. This is in stark contrast to the early days of development for the series, where the developers stated that Project CARS worked and looked just fine on the Wii U. After several delays, the developers finally acknowledged that the game will not run on Wii U hardware without serious optimization and they decided to cut their losses.

This has led to Nintendo fans bombarding the official Project CARS forums, asking the dev team why they lied to backers and continued to lie for two years. Slightly Mad Studios’ Ian Bell has had enough and in reply to a long-winded statement, told a user, “we really dislike Nintendo users.” You can see the full conversation that warranted the comment from Ian Bell below. Slightly Mad Studios has already moved on from Project CARS, with Project CARS 2 already announced and crowdfunding taking place.

This was posted several times. Everyone knows he was being sarcastic. This quote is not the reason it isn't coming to Wii U. It has nothing to do with them hating Nintendo fans.

Seriously, this is the third thread on this same quote.

This was a joke. He shouldn't have done it, because Nintendo fans are already angry because of the studio's false promises, and a proffesional on the internet should know ho Poe's Law works. The only thing that they could do to try to appease Nintendo fans is guaranteeing Project Cars or Project Cars 2 will be avalible at the NX launch.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

i dont care a little bit about this game but im very sure thats not 100% the truth.
Im sure the wii u version didn really exist.
They delayed the wii u version in summer. I think they did this, so the people who worked on the wii u version could help with xbox/ps versions (which both got also alot problems and delays) and the wii u version is frozen scince then.
They dont want to waste time on a not selling wii u version now when they could also start with project cars 2 which will sell alot more.

lol

Do the backers get their money back? This is kind of a bullshit move.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's funny how he even commented after his sarcastic and joke post that somebody would take his words and try to spin them and make it seem like he was being serious, and here is an article doing that exact thing he said would happen.

It.

Was.

A.

Joke.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Wow. That, along with the Kickstarter promise of the Wii U version, the 'updates' of how the Wii U version was doing and all that, could easily be used as fodder in court.
These guys should be ashamed of themselves. Even if it is a joke or something, it's extremely unprofessional and likely detrimental to their business, studio and partners. This has essentially admitted to lying to the Nintendo user base and outright stealing their money. The amount of balls these guys have, with the lackluster game that Project Cars is in comparison to other racers out there, is quite amazing.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Bad article is bad.

As already discussed in the other thread on it the comment about Nintendo fans was an obvious joke, and Ian Bell himself later clarifies that multiple times. Yet there is no mention of that in the article despite claiming the 'full' conversation is in the image?

This is the first I have seen of it. Either way, he is the frontman of a business. The 'joke' is entirely bad form and should have repercussions associated with it. A frontman for a business taking a pot shot at their potential customers? Seriously? Most businesses would fire him on the spot, joke or not.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.
