Forums - Gaming - Will Sony/Activision put out a SCUF/ELITE/competitive controller?

Given that COD is now partnered with Sony and that Microsoft have their own SCUF variant controller coming out around the same time Black Ops 3 releases, do you think Sony will have its own elite controller(with interchangeable sticks, paddles etc) much like a Scuf? Given the competitive scene will be switching to PS4, surely they must have something like this lined up?

If they do it would not be that soon otherwise it would seem like they are copying. Most likely they will just leave it to third parties. I would like to see what Sony could do left to their own imagination though, they are a good Hardware company.

I do not believe so. Furthermore, Scuf and Microsoft do have another competitor;

It is quite odd, but I have used it in its past iterations and current form. Quite exceptional and can hold its own against the Scuf 4PS.

I have a PS SCUF and I love it for Call of Duty but man that thing was crazy expensive especially considering the exchange rate(I live outside the US) and shipping. Sony would be wise to make some sort of elite variant because competitive Call of Duty will now be on PS4... Of course this doesn't effect the top tier competitive players as they are all sponsored by SCUF anyway and most likely get free controllers.

For what?

I don't any need for a ELITE controller.

I feel like Microsoft had the right idea trying to essentially corner the controller modding market by releasing their own official "modded" controller, but at the same time, $150 is absurd for a controller that basically just has some magnets and extra plastic pieces. In the end, I feel competitive players already have brands they trust, hardware they're willing to go with, etc. Releasing their own overpriced elite controller would benefit very few people all in all and would probably cost Sony more to develop and distribute than they'd ever make off of it.

Valid points. I always felt that controllers should have evolved by now to where they used more than just your thumbs and index fingers. The X1 and PS4 should have come with rear paddles as standard. When I first used the Scuf 4PS(PS4 controller) it was awkward because we have never used our middle fingers for pressing buttons but after about 2 days it felt completely natural.

Sony doesn't need to copy MS on BC or that controller elite. The playstation 4 is the leader in the market. There's no way to justify paying $150 for a controller when you already have a perfectly good controller to begin with.

It'd be cool, but I don't see Sony releasing a controller like that, and having to make it overpriced.

I dont think companies plan their strategy around one persons needs...

PS4 don't need... that is not me lol

That is why it is wiining... make the simpe... cut the complex... DS4 is enough.
