Despite what people think consoles have demographics that buy them. Nintendo consoles have a younger demographic. Microsoft has an older and FPS centric demographic. SONY has an RPG and action/adventure demographic.

You start understanding this and you begin to see how game sales can skew from one console to the other despite lower actual console sales.

Apparently Squenix will be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 on Xbox one as well, in Japan at least... but theres always the option to import if it never comes to the west..

You're probably right about the marketing but exclusive DLC or timed DLC woudn't hurt. It's more like a reward or a gift to gamers.

I agree with the point that Final Fantasy will always sell better on Playstation. The japanese and european markets are important for this point. But I want to point out something else. At Ps2, Playstation hat exclusive rights for huge franchises like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, MGS or more western games like GTA. During the Ps3 / 360 generation, they lost all of that deals. Don't you think it is a thing for Sony to get this franchises back? For marketing of Ps4 and even for Ps5 it would be a heavy point to "be the home of Final Fantasy" or "be the home of all this franchises". Maybe GTA is to big to get it exclusive again, but to regain the more japanese franchises could be a very huge point to convince even more poeple for their brand. And like said before, it will give smaller developers a sign that playstation is the platform to develope for, with the audience nearly completly on the platform.

for most gamers those series are at home on PS systems its the reason why they sell so MUCH better on them. It is literally a waste of money to try to secure them as exclusives. It would be too expensive to do so anyway
