Forums - Gaming - Crystal Dynamics “sympathizes” with Tomb Raider fans on “other platforms"

He probably does (he says as he sits on a pile of money).

Hmm, pie.

Perfect answer really. We are contractually bound not to mention the possibility of other platforms getting the game, but obviously the deal does not prevent us from releasing on other platforms after 2015, when we will definitely have something to talk about.

I just hope they revive that "Legacy of Kain" game they were working on. Replaying "Soul Reaver" on the Dreamcast... soooo good!

Very funny isn't it?

Sony in some manner gets a timed or console exclusive they are clear... when Capcom is asked by SF5, SE about FF VII or YS about Shenmue 3 they were all clear on what is exclusive and to what.

And PS top manager when asked about one of the exclusives said how long it would stay exclusive to PS4, he didn't resort to "I won't comment about other platforms, that is the job of the IP owner, but them have the owner of the IP says they can't comment as well"... isn't it realy strange?

I would pay on kickstarter for it.

You would think if it wasn't coming to PS3/PS4 Microsoft would want to make that very clear to drive sales. It's coming to Playstation, the release date is really the only question.

Eat a fatone, CD.

Don't see the point in raising a fuss about this stuff anymore. There's really no use in complaining, if you've ever bought anything during a timed exclusivity period. Anything at all. Full games, dlc, expansions etc.. The time to show the industry this type of behavior is unacceptable has long since past, not enough people have the restraint to refuse to purchase these titles, during the exclusivity period.

If, keeping in mind how improbable this is, if we as gamer's PC/Console/Mobile, could across the board boycott all games for the timeframe of their exclusivity, we might make a difference. Short of that, it's a moot point.

Plus, what about titles that simply would not be made, if another bigger/wealthier company couldn't step in and provide partial/full funding/marketing?  Should those not exist?  I mean, I grew up on Tomb Raider, also, so I find this particular title to be an annoying loss, but I can either wait for a PC version, or simply miss a game or two in the franchise.

By this time MS knows how to play the game. With Titanfall, all parties come out and say straight out it's a lifetime console exclusive. With Sony and SF5, they explain how it's never coming to Xbox. It's pretty obvious this game is coming to PS4 next year.

Boo hoo, CD, Boo Hoo.
