Forums - Nintendo Discussion - being 'unique' has cost nintendo every recent generation!!!!

If anything I could argue that Wii was a success. To think of it as anything less than a smashing success is ridiculous. Either way when we're all dead and Nintendo is still around they'll have the last laugh. It kinda makes me wish that we can just jump forward 50 years and see people generations later still predicting Nintendoom. That and half a century later Nintendo will still be marching on.

This thread is absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the good laugh.

Most gamers have grown up. They don't care for these kids games like Splatoon now

Although, one could find many flaws with MS and Sony, Nintendo is the most arrogant of em' all. This arrogance makes me feel a total lack of respect for the consumer. It all went to the next level with the success of the Wii.

You are welcome. I guess you don't agree then huh?

awesome logic. the wii made them billions but was a "complete failure" cuz a handful of picky people didn't like it.

The fact alone that you had the audacity to say the GameCube was even a moderate success is one of the several things I disagree with.

Haha well if we all agreed then vgc would be a boring place no? Also it was a commercial failure but IMO they made money, made great games had decentish 3rd party and Nintendo's rep was killed like it was by wii

Unfortunately, Nintendo seem to make major slip ups every gen that any other company probably wouldn't make. For example the GC's disks, N64's carts, Wii U's marketing, stuff like that.

But yeah, in my opinion it feels like Nintendo is becoming a company that people know, but don't pay attention to and they really need to fix that.

Nintendo has always been a company people know. Ask anyone "Do you know what Nintendo is" and they will at least say "I know they made Mario".

Pretty much everyone knows of Nintendo.

There is nothing inherently wrong with being unique. The problem comes about when you're trying to be unique for the sake of being unique, not because it's a good option. If what you're offering consumers is less enjoyable or offers less value than what your competitors are offering, then you will lose and it will be your own fault.

A perfect definition of What the WiiU is.
