Forums - Gaming - Virtual reality is an official succes

The director of Nintendo America (Reggie) has stated that Virtual reality isn't any fun and antisocial and purely technical stuff, I personally think his body isn't ready yet. We all know Nintendo is amazing at making bad hardware/business decissions, so does this mean Virtual Reality will be a huge succes. Because if Nintendo says something isn't big like Third party support, HD gaming, graphics, DVD/Blu ray placback, online multiplayer it usally is :p.

VR doesn't really exist yet. What counts as "VR" now is laughable at best. At the present, I don't agree or disagree with him, mainly on account that the technology isn't out on the market now or in the foreseeable near future.

Are we comparing Reggie to Patcher now?

No, but OP did give enough examples to support the point.

Morpheus had an official game announcement on E3 and Insomniac is working on a game for Oculus, that future is coming close fast perhaps even next year already

Morpheus and Oculus are as much VR as those head set games you can play at Chuck-E-Cheese.

Perhaps difference is Morpheus and Oculus will get some actual support, by talented developers it's the game that has to make the experience worthwhile not just the device. My PS4 is an already weak computer yet it produces good looking games for todays standards.

I was pretty interested with Rigs. It looks like Titanfall with VR.

Wait for patcher downplaying the importance of VR.
When he does, you ll know for sure.

Seriously though... sony has 20-30 games in development for VR (I thought I heard they said).
Thats alot of developers that seem to think it ll be a success.

I don't consider it real VR. When VR comes out, it'll be big. But as it stands, it doesn't exist.
