Forums - Nintendo - Zelda U vs Zelda NX

Zelda U is build with the gamepad in mind porting to another console make little sense because the overall gameplay experience would suffer without the gamepad.

pros

gamepad provides a deeper gameplay experience: map, items on screen etc. easier to use more friendly UI which provides a seamless gameplay experience in a seamless open world game.

cons

slightly worse graphics, resolution etc. similar to Twilight Princess (Wii/Gamecube)

Zelda NX: we dont know anything about Nintendos next console so everything said is a guess/speculation.

pros

slightly better graphics similar to Twilight Princess (Wii/GameCube)

cons

no gamepad (who knows) no screen, no seamless gameplay etc. you get the point. regular controller not that anything is wrong with that but like I said Zelda U is build with the gamepad in mind and i fail to see how it would turn out better on NX.

For those who think they can re build the entire game which is basically a remake of a already close to finish product is highly unlikely. In other words you wont see a big leap in graphics. I wont even go and try to talk about frame rates which imo isnt a big deal when it comes to a full 3D Zelda adventure game. And theres also that FUSION (console/handheld in one or same games work on both platforms lol) thing going on and if true it wont suffer that much because it has a second screen then according to some theories but lets keep that away from here at least for now.

I made this thread because i want to talk and see what people think about the game itself and the overall experience that awaits on Wii U or NX and not how the game would affect Nintendos next or current console or any other business related stuff.

the choice is yours.

I'll buy the Wii U version because I'm not going to support this kind of shit anymore.

I will get the wiiU version cause if they really don't want to make Zelda exclusive to the wiiU, yea my next nintendo console will have to wait

The NX will have a gamepad. Likely superior to the Wii U's gamepad, because the Wii U gamepad is an ergonomic nightmare. Zelda NX is superior to Zelda U. Problem solved. Crisis averted.

And what are you talking about when you say no seamless gameplay? It'll obviously be more seamless on more powerful hardware. Might even have a better framerate, which is the biggest improvement any game can get.

To answer the thread, obviously NX, because it will be objectively better.

basically pushing the start button so no need to pause the game and choose items its easier on the gamepad screen. why do you think nx will have a second screen ?

BC. And because they're still pushing the second screen for the Wii U now in its 11th hour. And because their next systems will be part of a unified platform, which is impossible to do when your hardware doesn't match up feature wise. They've already confirmed that games would work on both systems. Why do you think the N3DS exists with added bumpers and a second analog nub? To functionally mirror the Wii U's controls. Likely to test how that relationship will look for the NX and XDS.

Can't play XDS game on the NX without having a second screen. Can't play DS VC games on the NX without a second screen. Can't play Wii U games on the NX without a second screen. Can't play 3DS games on the NX without a second screen. The second screen isn't going anywhere, no matter how much people moan about it. But they won't whine this time because the new gamepad won't look like a fisherprice ipad-wannabe. It'll look more like a traditional controller, with a screen in the middle.

Kind of like the Vita when it has the trigger grip.

I want the best version of the game.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

Well according to them they said the game WILL NOT be on NX... have they done this before?
