Forums - Nintendo - Disinformation Agents Have Overtaken VGCHARTZ (Nintendo Related)

Seriously what is up with nintendo fans? Is there any other fanboy community as prone to totally making sh*t up in their heads? Remember that Super Mario Universe debacle? The game was never anounced never hinted at and never actually rumored. It was made up in purely in the minds of gamers then when nintendo released 3D world everyone got pissed it wasn't the game they had made up completely in their heads. Same damn thing just happened with metroid prime 4 and F-zero (both games I would love to be real) but all evidence points to Metroid Prime 4 having not even entered pre-development. Don't get me wrong I was disappointed with the E3 event too (and confused by the fatal frame thing which is included in nintendo's online videos as an E3 trailer) but the ridiculous level of anger and wild speculation Nintendo fans have been throwing around is ridiculous. And it's whatever still lots of games I need to get for my WiiU. Side note why didn't Nintendo say anything about their indie game line up? It is solid and their nindie at home program is sweet.

It's a sad day when people start saying things that they can't immediately back up with evidence. That's why I hate meteorologists.

they can back it up with hard data, its just very complicated to understand.  and most of the time the data is missused by some guys on tv.

and getting a new nintendo handheld in 2016 isnt that speculative, its about time and it would fit well.(and we heared something about handheld parts a while ago)

Nintendo hasn't said anything about releasing their next home console in 2016, that Zelda U will be cross gen, or that they are developing games for their next home console. To say otherwise at this point in time, would just be speculation and to say it as a fact, would be spreading misinformation.

Idk about calling it a lie though, the definition of a lie is "an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood" so I can definitely see how someone could view it as such.

Regardless I think the NX is a handheld and if it is it'll probably be released in 2016 but if it's that fusion thing it'll probably be released in 2017.

Tomato tomato.

You say lie, other people say logical assumption based on the information and actions of Nintendo.

They didn't want to announce NX, but their sudden decision to only cover 2015 for the home console certainly begs the question of why now?

Because that's how Nintendo rolls now.

“We focus on the here and now,” says Fils-Aimé. “We’re not like other players in the space that might show a little bit of something that is going to be years in the making. It’s simply because we believe that in getting the fan base excited, we really want to satiate that excitement as soon as possible.

Translation: We're stashing our big titles away, because we're probably going to release a new home console next year, but please buy the Wii U now?

Yep that's pretty much how I interpreted that statement too. "We focus on the now because we don't want to accidentally unveil our new system".

"In some shape or form, we're always thinking about how we want to surprise players as well as our desire to change each person's video gaming life." - Iwata.

"As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename 'NX,'" Iwata said.

"We'll talk more about our next system, code named Nintendo NX, in 2016," Fils-Aime

Statements like this is all nintendo give us. Because they dont want to say late 2016 or early 2017, there will be a new consol. Why dont they want to say that? because they want to sell all the Wii U they have made, or as many as they can before then.

If it was still more than 1-2 years away, nintendo would have no problem giveing a vague year of release reference.
New consol out in 2018 (like 3 years from now) is so far away it couldnt possibly hurt wii U sales.

So why havnt they given a real date? like 2018? because its comeing out earlier than that.

Its just a question if you believe it ll be 2016 or 2017 at this point.

Anyways thats what I think (its not something I know).

Kensuke Tanabe, has told Eurogamer that a new Metroid console game is not likely until the NX is released:

"If we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console.

Take this how you will.

So what about the Nintendo mystery game thing at the Gamespot stream? Is that a lie?

Yeah, like WHERE ARE THE SONY WON E3 THREADS???????? all im seeing are how Nintendo lost e3.
