The rest of the world my friend, I expect the PS3 to keep doing pretty well in emerging markets and stay above that level for a quite a while. Will it drop off in Europe and the USA, absolutely.

It depends there are rumors that the X360 is going to get disscontinued soon so if that's true PS3 would get the Sub $200 playing field to itself.
the ps3 sales already fall off a cliff
they sold only 3.1m the last fiscal year
1.1m last holiday quarter
its already selling worse than the 360
the ps3 will be dead in 2016
With the slow summer months upon us, Sony missed a good opportunity for a PS3 price drop at E3.
There is still no reason for me to switch to PS4 before 2016

I get that people think "well, with so much better hardware available at $XXX, the PS3 should be $100 or less by now", but that's not how it works. It only makes sense for Sony to drop the price of the PS3 again if they can make more money from selling higher amounts at this lower price.
But I think in the last years the price to manufacture a PS3 actually went up instead of down. That's because it uses components and architectures that are not used anywhere else, like the Cell and XDR ram, and produces them in lower and lower quantities, which makes every unit more costly.
And one thing is certain - they will sooner stop production than take losses on PS3 HW again, as the console has no chance to recoup them anymore with software sales dwindling rapidly.
I never cared about CoD since Modern Warfare in 2007, even less so on consoles and those other titles aren't coming out for some time. Still don't see a reason for me to buy a PS4 for some time.
Uncharted 4 alone won't do it for me.
I almost got my hands on one at 50%, which was a good deal, but they had run out by the time I got to the store. I won't be getting one until it's at least 100$ cheaper and has a library of games I actually want.
I can honestly say that it doesn't have a single must-have title for me yet (besides The Witcher 3, but that's a PC game for me).
But, yes; PS3 sales will keep falling, 5-10k might be a slight stretch by the end of the fiscal year though. I can certainly see 10-12k though, especially if the PS4 has a very good holiday season.
Well thats normal that 10 years old systems get forgetted someday
They are already low. Its surprising that some people predicted PS3 would easily sell 100m+ and many were confident the PS3 would follow the same trend as the PS2 and sell tens of millions of units after the PS4 came out.
