This will probably beat Iga's game as the biggest kickstarter campaign ever. Hopefully it lives to expectations.

What are you talking about? It's a MEGATON according to the internet. 

Sony essentially put a game on the E3 stage and told the public to go fund it or else. Genius idea to be honest. Now they don't have to use as much of their own financial resources to make a game or possibly any for that matter.

It will easily exceed it's goal, but still... This feels wrong.

That's pretty much how I feel, and I just kickstarted Bloodstained. E3 conferences aren't the place to launch kickstarters. Feels like an abuse.

That said, I think I got past wanting a Shenmue 3 a good few years ago now.

Well, it is an odd kickstarter. #3 in a series without mention of a rerelease of the first two games & advertised by Sony despite the backer rewards being fairly PC-centric. Also, even here the rumor persists that it only needs to hit 2 mil for Sony to back it, so I imagine investors are holding back. Finally, there are the fans who dislike Kickstarter, Sony not backing it from the get-go, or believe the game needs a CoD budget, and are witholding their support.
