I don't see anyway for Nintendo to even reach close to Sony.

Nintendo pretty much only has their first party titles, which are admittedly great but Sony has both first and third parties backing them up full force. It's almost impossible for Nintendo to overcome that.

Nintendo better have something, 2015 is NES 30TH anniversary! Nintendo brought video games back, everybody owes Big N! But Nintendo is about kids. Amibo was smart move. 3DS keeps Nintendo alive. I want a live-streaming game service for Wii U NES Gameboys SNES N64 Gamecube WII DS 3DS even Wii U! 30 years of Nintendo history in 1 system! Oh, and Arcade going back to 1981 Donkey Kong which started it all!

Easy:
Announce half-life 3 as exclusive
Them a remake for chono trigger
Add a Pokemon MMO to the mix.

So, the obvious answer is no. Would not matter anyway, since even if nitnendo had a better show, PS4 would still consintenly sell miles better than WiiU or even 3DS. At least we can count on nintendo showing good games yet.

Even if a new Metroid is announced, a showcasing of Zelda and Starfox, and who knows what else, Nintendo wouldn't put much of a dent in that Sony conference.

The amount of hype in all that was announced from those 3 surprise games is insane. 2 of those were almost decades in the asking for. The other was coming close to a decade.

Nintendo could announce a new Earthbound for Wii U too and still be way behind.

Yes, but we're talking about their E3 presentation, not on which platforms we'll be able to play the game. This is truly gigantic news for the gaming community. It's impossible for Nintendo to release anything mildly comparable to FF7.
