Forums - Gaming - Xbox1 backward compatilibity just dropped a deuce on PS Now.

Even as a PS fan, I was impressed with Xbox1 backward compatibility.  The PS Now is so anti-consumer, and I hate it.  You have to pay premium for a somewhat laggy, pixelated version of last-gen games regardless if you already owned that PS3 game.  I realize the PS3 is a completely different architecture from PS4, so it would be much more difficult for PS4 to have backward compatibility.  But Sony needs to respond to this.  At least give free PS Now on PS4 for games already owned on PS3.

PS Now stuff would be cool if the service wasn't so terrible.

Lol, no it hasn't. PS Now is building a platform. BC only helps the XBO short term. PS Now is a long term strategy.

Oh hello - its nice to see someone who obviously has never used the service... complaining about the service. Welcome to the bandwagon.

Well PS now is a streaming/rental service for the future not just a BC solution for PS3 games.

This. PS Now is separate from the PS4. Sure, it's also availible on the PS4, but PS Now should be regarded as its own platform. While I'd like BC for the PS4 too, it isn't as big of a deal as many make it out to be. (At least for me it isn't)

Yeah... PS4 games will start popping up on there soon. Once that happens, my guess is that they will start replacing PS3 versions with PS4 versions of the games.

completely agree, playstation needs to respond

I think service is more dependent on internet connection, so that would be user end. This will be the future, have to give it time to mature. It's an ambitious idea, but once the pieces fall in place...
