9/10, nearly perfect!
If that kid at the beginning wouldn't have been there...
I'd give it a 10 then!
If you're interested in Nintendo content and understand german, maybe you want to take a look at my youtube channel! :)

What? xD dont tell me you didnt like miniwheat LMAO xD but seriously he was kinda annoying

It was magnificent, especially the ending.
It started slowly and somewhat annoyingly thanks to the kid, but the challenges were excellent and the competition was fierce (for the most part).
The Super Mario Maker finale was breathtaking. My wife and I literally jumped up and cheered when each finalist made it to the finish line.
Enjoyed the Championships. But Nintendo sure has announce a few games, albeit 3DS before their Digital even makes me think that it is going to be mainly Wii U items featured.
I would rate it an 8
I got to the Nokia theater at 8:50 saw miyamoto and competitors enter through the side entrance, got the wristband at around 10:20, went to smash burger and met a youtuber there, went back in line and steetpassed until they let us in around 2 (super glad for the clouds and shade we had in line. Got a really nice seat compared to last year. Said hi to a couple more youtubers, did a couple more steetpasses and then the pre show began. Yoshi looks fun but the girl playing it did not know how to play the game well and them just stretching the segment just made everyone disinterested. Then when itoi came on screen everyone got silent then one of the biggest cheers of the night came when earthbound beginnings came on screen. Then pure silence again when the trailer ran THERE WERE PEOPLE CRYING TEARS during that trailer. Then once it ended there was a round of applause and cheering. Now once the preshow ended everyone was pumped and everyone wanted to see the show. The stopped letting people in and it was about around 1/2 to 2/3 the size of the audience for the smash event last year. I told my cousins sorry for waking them up so early and then the show started. Splatoon was hyping the audience but the kid showing up was a drag, he was not bad and he had a couple good lines but I think it was a bad call to have him there, the best 2 out of 3 made the audience kind of bored and wince it was over people were happy to see the kid gone. Then the Zelda speed run came and boy does that guy from smosh suck. It was super fun to watch and the crowd was hyped. Then everyone got super hyped for the announcement of the new game. Everyone was shouting out names of the great ip (I was shouting f-zero.) then blast ball comes up and man the crowd went from 10 to 0 in a heart beat. The game was boring and it looked really bad looking on the big screen. One goal got a cheer from the audience and the magma ball got everyone interested again but other then that just people checking their phones and streetpasses. Then super metroid came and boy I was surprised how even with all those e-tanks people still died. I can't believe no one saved the animals. Everyone got super happy when mario kart 8 200 cc was announced. I liked both groups playing but the second group obviously knew how to play 200cc more than the first group and the crowd showed. Then ballon fight came and wow everyone sucked. Everyone thought egoraptor would win but Cosmo got it in the end. Then smash came and everyone was hyped like last year. It got insane when Hbox came out on stage with Reggie. It was another one of the hype at moments of the event. Then the match came everyone could not believe what they were watching. Once Reggie just jumped off the stage we knew this would end badly. The crowd still could not believe all the item kills and rests that were happening and in the end we all couldn't believe how bad Reggie showed off Ryu. Then the competitors came back and everyone was shouting "Roy's our boy" and it was super hype when Cosmo chose him. The match got kind of boring at parts but it was still fun to watch with the crowd. Then when Super Mario Maker came on people were mixed and some yell where is the new game but boy did that change fast. That first level was nuts and the crowd was super into it and everyone stood up when john beat the level. Then mario 3 was on and man that level was also super fun to watch. Then when mario world came on everyone in the crowd just laughed their ass off during the runs. The last level speed run was hyped up and man it was a good level but somewhat of a let down to see Cosmo suck at the game. Then miyamoto came out and talked to the crowd and man was that cool. I love his bad English and man it was amazing to see him. After that everyone went to the front and tried to get a high five from miyamoto and the contestants. We then left around 6:45 and went back home.
It was super fun. There were boring parts but the high parts were very high. Less people made me get a better seat this year but man last year was a little better because of the large audience. Will most likely go again next year.
Sorry for the wall of text but I guess I was the only one on this site that went there so I had say it from an audience perspective. And I know it's called the Microsoft theater but it's still Nokia in my heart.
don't waste time

Yes, yes it is. Love the sentiment, I echo the good vibes.
NWC was a 10/10 for me just on effort alone. Love that they brought it back and had a blast watching it! Reminded me of the joy and camraderie you can have playing games and why I love this hobby in the first place.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P
Wow, just spend the entire day watching the NWC one bit at a time, and this was certainly the best video-game related show I've ever seen. The live setup with a passionate audience for the ambience makes it clear what the Digital Events are missing.
Sure, the competition itself was perhaps a bit questionable when a lot of the games were team-based but the end result was an individual win, but that didn't matter to me though because the entertainment value was sky-high. After a while I was actually cheering with the rest of the crowd. They did a good job showcasing each game and mostly the contestants were quite skilled. Some were obviously unfamiliar with one of the games though, like the two that didn't really know what to do against Mother Brain. No biggie though, can't be an expert at everything, I know I sure ain't!
The Blast Ball game or whatever was a bit mediocre though, but it feels like it's actually part of something bigger somehow. On the other hand, the Mario Maker finale, or should I say, Super Mario Maker finale, was pure genius. Absolute brilliance. They made great levels that really showcased the features of this game and the setup of the fourth round was great. It's too bad Cosmo struggled on that first part of the fourth level there, otherwise it could have been pretty tense. Miyamoto making an appearance at the end was the cherry on top, what a legend.
You want a grade here in this thread, okay. I'm a harsh judge though, so don't expect a 10/10. The kid at the Splatoon section (who I wasn't really bothered with until he started shouting "10! 9! 8!" etcetera at the end of the last couple matches) and the mediocre the mediocre Blast Ball part kick the score down a notch. I'll excuse the fact that team-based games were probably not the best way to come to an individual winner, simply because of the entertainment value and that they were great games to showcase. 8.5/10
Anyway, Nintendo, what an awesome way to start E3 this year!
Awesome, pure gaming passion, humour and tons of fun.
Super Mario Maker was awesome.
