He's a completely new, and unique character for Smash, which makes him good in my books.

Am I the only one that thinks Capcom doesn't really deserve two of their characters in Smash? I mean, Megaman is an iconic character tied to Nintendo platforms, most of its best games have been on Nintendo consoles. But Street Fighter? I don't think the series has stand out on Nintendo to deserve the cameo (I thought the same about Snake in Brawl).

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Yeah, I agree that Capcom having two reps is a bit overboard.

Mega Man had a lot more history with Nintendo consoles, and while games like Street Fighter 2 were on SNES, the SF series didn't have as much history on Nintendo consoles, so I can see how the addition of Ryu does seem a little out of place.
