I want Diddy Kong Racing Returns, but I wouldn't be upset at a Donkey Kong Planet 3D platformer.

Why not both?

I'd be surprised if they didn't.

As for the game, as much as I liked Tropical Freeze I'm hoping they either go back to Metroid or just make something completely new.

I think one kart racer per console is enough for me. I hope it is an action-adventure or a 3d platformer adventure game. These are underrepresented genres today and I know Retro will make excellent games in these genres.

Honestly, it would be a mistake to make anything DK-related now. At best 3D DK.

I hope Metroid, Kid Icarus, New IP, anything else.

Nintendo seems set on squandering Retro's capabilities like an alcoholic squanders his savings this gen.

As amazing as Tropical Freeze was, and as much as I trust Retro to make just about anything awesome, making them create the same kind of games as EAD proper is wasteful and foolish when they've proven themselves capable of delivering much more ambitious experiences the likes of which are far more popular these days than cartoon games.
