Apparently the retail copy is exclusive to Amazon in Japan. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=167123821&postcount=291

That is so...stupid.

Like, genuinely stupid.

Yeah, that is fucking indefensible @.@

I've been backing up this one since last years E3 when nobody liked it :D - but I still think this partnership doesn't make any sense, why from all the people would you want to sell this to the ones that specifically hate these kinds of games? from an artists standpoint, you probably just want to see you work completed so i kinda get it, yet I know this will be the same thing as Bayonetta and im not hoping anything more than 200k LT, but i'm sure as hell gonna enjoy it

.... -_- amazon exclusive..... oh for the love of.... -_-

either this game's budget is so small they feel they could get away with that or Nintendo really doesn't care for stocking anything in retails.

Trust Nintendo to find a way to fuck up everything they touch...

Nintendo sending it out to die confirmed.

Maybe if it exceeds expectations on Amazon they'll feel inclined to stock copies at other retailers, but I doubt it. Fucking dumb.

How is Amazon exclusive going to help this game sell? This is probably worse than the Gamestop exclusive deal with Xenoblade Chronicles in NA.

I think that depends on if Nintendo markets it. A lot of Splatoon's success is also because Nintendo gave it the marketing treatment it deserved.

True. This game won't get that same treatment, but I hope they at least do some advertising. Expectations for this game are very low in Japan (like...less than 10k low) but I think Nintendo can pull something out of their hat if they really want to.

If the Amazon thing is true, we certainly know how Nintendo feels about it now.
