Tell me about it. Why support the last gen consoles, though? Surely, they're ready to bring their development costs and resources down? Otherwise, why skip the Wii U? It seems like developing for PS4 and XBO alone would be cheaper - and it would bring more gamers into this gen... which would help them sell more copies on the new consoles. 

Edit: Does seem like they enjoy toying with Nintendo fan's hearts, though. Why drop all the subtle clues all of the time?

Easy, because the fanbase on X360 and PS3 last gen was big and part of them has not migrated to the new consoles. Releasing on all those consoles guarantees exposure to all the fanbase dispersed on all those platforms.

Clearly Activision felt it wouldn't have sold alot on Wii U for them to choose this, and they're like right. CoD Ghost for Wii U sold horribly too.

Last CoD brought in almost a total of 8 million in sales so it's obvious they'll continue to bring CoD to last gen.

I have played... god, I don't even know how many hours of competitive online FPS for the last 15 years. FRom Halo, to COD to... you name it. For me, Splatoon is filling the void fine. I actually own a PS4 and I really am finished with COD. It's not a case of quality, but more or less repetition. I'm tired of the same old game every year. Halo, COD... same thing over and over and over again. It's awesome fun but at some point, it gets stale. At least for me anyway.

Splatoon is anything but stale. It doesn't look, sound, play or feel like any other FPS I've ever played and so for me, I really couldn't care less if COD was on the system. I wouldn't buy it anyway.

welp that seals it. The team that would usually do the Wii/WiiU port are probably creating DLC already, which I can't blame them for since they make a lot more money out of that. Last gen support is still a bit meh though although they also generate quite a lot of money. Let's see if 360 and PS3 can do 5m combined or not.
