Forums - Sony - Recommend me a PS4 game (please)

So, I've had a PS4 game since launch. These are the games I've owned/rented: Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Injustice: God's Among Us, CoD Ghosts, Ass Creed Black Flag, Tomb Raider, GTA V, CoD AW, PvZ: Garden Warfare.

All multi-platform, all (most?)  mutli-gen.

I want a game that's 8-10 hours long. Preferably action/adventure/platforming (although racing welcome if action-oriented like Motorstorm or Burnout). Review scores don't matter as long as it's generally considered to be a good game. Not a fan of horror, so not Last of Us or Bloodborne.

I don't care if it's exclusive, although it would be nice to have a game that's not on PS3. Looking at my collection, I could have saved my girl a bunch of cash if I just asked for a ps3.

Cheers.

Oh, and no indie titles. I tend to suck up everything on PSN Plus, I don't want to drop money on something that will probably be free at some point in the future (grumble, grumble, Black Flag and Injustice).

Infamous: Second Son is exactly the game you are looking for. But if ports count God Of War III: Remastered is the game you should buy.

You should have asked for a PS3..... lol

I was burned by the first Infamous. Got bored of that game real quick (I owned a PS3, but it died out of warranty a few years back), so I'm hesitent on that. Would you say the series has improved substantially over the years?

Only ever owned Chains of Olympus, on the PSP. Can I jump into GoW3 without knowing the backstory? Or should I await the inevitable collection?

Welp.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

infamous Second Son and First Light are the games you're looking for! 10h for SS and 4h story (14 + 5 if you do extras, you should get both)

Honestly, I'm just a big baby. I'm terrified of so many things. Sharks ended my playthrough of Black Flag, no joke.

I too was VERY disappointed by the first Infamous. I thought it was a sub-par game in terms of gameplay. But Infamous: Second Son has incredible gameplay and is the most fun I've had with a game this gen so far. Story isn't as good, but the gameplay makes it worth it.

As for God Of War III you'll not get much of the story if you've only played Chains Of Olympus. But it has incredibly fun and epic gameplay so you'll still enjoy it. I know that makes it iffy, but don't worry, you'll be amazed by the epic levels and have a lot of fun.

How long did you play the first inFamous. In my opinion the third one doesn't start of slow and the faster gameplay is a blast combined with the nice visuals and good (not special) story.

You can play GoW3 without having played the other 2. Just watch the intro and end cinematics of both games and you're settled. Or read a 10 sentence summary. I didn't play 1 and only got halfway through game 2 before I gave away my PS2 in favor of getting a PS3 back then. GoW3 in the end I finished 4 times each time just as epic.

I'd have to say Bloodbourne but it doesn't match the criteria you're looking for. So maybe InFamous is your best choice?
