Still holding 10k! Looks like it won't drop below for at least a few more weeks. October may hurt it.

But you know that the 2D Mario fanbase is already on Wii U?

topic: Good numbers for Wii U (compared to the other years).

I have to agree with Dr. Vita here. Super Mario Maker isn't the kind of title that really pushes hardware in one or two weeks, its hardware impact has legs on its own.

There's also the relative dearth of content for the system in the months ahead, so...make of that as you wiil.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

sigh, The 2d Fanbase is already on Wii U? do you want me to go and pull up some NSMB figures for the DS, and Wii and even the 3DS version for those games cause last I check those numbers far exceed Wii U numbers. There are also perks in the bundles that you wont get anywhere else. 30K+ is easily going to happen. Another thing to, every single Wii U bundle has increased it by a minimum of 300% in Japan. The fact that one of the two bundles recently sold out on Amazon Japan is another big clue that they're moving units. In fact, they just restocked that bundle. I don't see why you guys expect a Mario game with 2 bundles that's a special 20th anniversayr edition to just be a 5k boost over this week.

I agree, the new SMM Bundle seems to be in very high demand, a boost above 20k is pretty much a given. Above 30k is more of a guess, but very much possible. Also, All Wii U Bundles seem to be close to selling out, as they all just get 1% off (General rule: The less off, the smaller the stock).

Also, the white Premium model without any game is climbing the ranks at Amazon Japan, currently tracking at spot 24. In short, the console is in very much demand right now, so sales will be good and significantly above this week in the next update

What could limit it's sales might be a limited stock. As I said, it looks like stocks at Amazon Japan seem to be very low, and I doubt the situation will be much different throughout Japan in other shops if Amazon's stocks are short.

A huge boost should come next weeks.

Well, it looks like it JUST managed to hang on to its 10k baseline despite Metal Gear solid 5's debut and everyone rushing out to buy PS4s.
Now Super Mario Maker + Splatoon should be able to keep it above 10k for the rest of September and a few weeks into October, and hopefully it'll get some pre-holiday effects of some sort just in time for November.

Updated, SMM boost disappointed me a bit, tho amazon japan was a pretty big indicator of that. Still good week.

Just going to put this out there:  this further shows that a price cut is desperately, desperately needed.  Especially with a PS4 price cut having hit.  People keep dismissing the effect a price cut could have but the Wii U is selling itself almost purely on the exclusive lineups with no 3rd party love (even in Japan for some bizarre reason, despite being ahead of the PS4).  So price matters quite a lot I would say.  $50 (and an equivalent percentage drop in Japan and other regions) could do wonders, especially in conjunction with marketing and the holidays.
