Was looking forward to this. They've lost my purchase now. Hope it flops and they pay for making it PC exclusive.

You were looking forward to something that hadn't been announced until it was announced and now don't want it? XD

No doubt they'll get some studio to port it once its finished. Not sure FireAxis are big enough for a full multiplat job in one go.

I was looking forward to it since the rumours recently about it (rumours that said it would be on PS4/Xbox One as well). And I still do want it, but not on PC. You say they aren't big enough for a full multiplat at once? The last XCOM game they developed released on PC/PS3/360 all at the same time and now porting from PC to console is supposed to be easier than ever, so they could have done it, they just aren't.

And PS3/360 required less manpower to utilise than PS4/XB1 will now need (for a next generation game).

I'd rather they got it right on PC with their full resources then work on the console ports later or farm them out to another dev.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Did it?  Sales look quite average to me to be honest.  1m on PS360 combined at a time they were still perfectly viable.

how is 1.1m for two console ports bad?
Not even talking about the genre or history of the franchise, which is very PC-centric. I'm pretty sure they knew that it wouldn't sell a couple of millions on each console.
PC sales might very well be bigger than both console versions combined, but I doubt it's so much higher that the console versions appeared dispensable in comparison.

I didn't say it was bad.  I said it was "average".

And 1.1m in 3 years, with a large amount of those being at discounted prices seeing as it sold 114k in its first NPD (which includes physical PC sales, although I imagine they're not much) is pretty average.

In any event, I was responding to "sold [...] quite well on consoles".  I can see why they're not rushing out to stick it on consoles from the get-go, although I could see ports coming later.

i am disappointment on no ps4 version but i'm fine with a late port too if they need to focus on the pc version first. it's is first and foremost a pc game so it makes sense to prioritize that but i still hope for a console port.

PC getting some love! Games like XCOM are terribly to control with gamepads anyway and strategy games aren't exactly huge on consoles.

Respective to the success of this niche game though? if the console version made up 50% of its sales and its a very PC centric title, I'd say the console version done "quite well".

What a wonderful surprise. I thought for sure they'd leave the Xcom series alone. Enemy Unknown was a fantastic game, and I'm really excited for this.

it should've said "sold [...] quite well on consoles considering the type of game it is", but I thought that would be too obvious.
For any FPS with a big PC history (such as STALKER or Metro) I would've agreed that these would be average sales compared to the potential they had.
