Respective to the success of this niche game though? if the console version made up 50% of its sales and its a very PC centric title, I'd say the console version done "quite well".

it should've said "sold [...] quite well on consoles considering the type of game it is", but I thought that would be too obvious. For any FPS with a big PC history (such as STALKER or Metro) I would've agreed that these would be average sales compared to the potential they had.

I do understand the "genre = niche on consoles" argument, but that's still all the more reason to focus on the PC version over consoles and then evaluate where they're at on a later date.
Besides, I don't think consoles are anywhere close to 50% of this game. Steamspy (however inaccurate it may be) has the game at ~2.7m, plus whatever copies aren't registered on Steam and the physical copies sold which aren't registered on Steam.
I'm not saying the sales are terrible. They're fine. Maybe they're even pretty good. But for a massive corporation like Take Two, I can understand why servicing a console niche wouldn't be a massive priority for you, especially when you're hitting consoles with much more appropriate games from other IP's you own.
