Congrats on the 14K this thread is really nice and I hope it never closes...

One question, I can't seem to find the article on Google but anyone remembers the date MS will host Scorpio's reveal? I know it was a few days before E3.

First of all i consider DS2 to be the weaker in the series. It was very obvious that it was made by a different director. It was a good game but it felt like a step back in level design.

I think DS3 refined a lot of the mechanics from the previous games, and it was very hard without being cheap. I feel that a lot of the difficulty from the original was a result of poor design. I was getting hit behind walls and during boss fights i was dying by hits that clearly missed.

That's actually my biggest problem with DS3: it really felt like it made some massive step back in level design, among other questionable choices. Very linear in comparison to other games of the franchise, barely any non-main story related place to explore (by my count there's just four, with one being a blatantly reharshal of the prologue scenario, and the other being a blatantly copy/paste job from Chalice Dungeons in Bloodborne), extremely uninspired places which include some lazy copy/paste from previous games on them, broken mechanics like Poise, and they couldn't even come up with a more original story scenario, as you're just being retold the events of Dark Souls 1, including the original lazy ending from it (though thankfully there are four total endings to choose from).

It probably feature the best sidequests in all Souls, though, and one of my favourite bosses from all the games, Twin Princes.

Yes that boss was awesome. I also really liked Deacons of the Deep.

As for the scenario. One of my main complains about the Dark Souls series in general is that there's basically no story. There is a lot of history behind the people and enemies you encounter but nothing actually happens during the game. This is the reason we get very boring, unsatisfying endings.

Hasn't yet been revealed when they are officially revealing Scorpio.

Ohh I thought they did, so they just announced that there will be a pre E3 show then...

Don't think they've announced that either xD.

Maybe you're thinking about the Hardware event MS will have Early 2017? I don't think they'll reveal Scorpio there though, that will be filled with Surface devices, they'd probably want to give it it's own event.

Yea just found where I heard that, it was from a youtuber and it's just a rumor... my bad. Thanks though.

Bump.
Thread fell off my buddy.

Because of the art style, Blue Dragon graphics really hold well. Can't believe it is a 10 year old game.

Hell even Lost Odyssey still holds up. I'm surprised how pretty the game still is to this day.

I had my GOTY votes all wrote up in a separate tab and my browser crashed so gotta write them out again today :(

I'm two hours in Blue Dragon and the leveling system and skills seems a lot better than Lost Odyssey.

I don't remember anything about that game. It seems like a new experience to me which is good. Love BC!

Homefront is bad.
