I like the gearsmas packages. I wish I got to them when they leaked though. Supposedly they were selling for 100 credits each.

I love these weapon skins 😊 got gingerbread gnasher & boomshot, snow lancer and more. Also Swarm and Kait characters and still got around 8000coins. Got to save some for upcoming UIR packs.

Also completed 50 insane waves as lvl4 heavy, with some very good random gamers.

I think I got everything except for kait. Once I get her then I'm back to saving up. I need to get some credits together for the UIR pack. I need the drop shot, the UIR Soldier and the Boomshot.

Isn't Heavy fun? Once you work out distances with the boomshot then you're all set. At level 4 your main skills should be Launcher Damage and Launcher Capacity. Right away your Salvos are already at 100% damage and you got an extra 10 rounds. All you need for Horde is a weapon locker and a salvo. At least if your skills are maxed. At level 5 your next skill should be either Heavy Weapon Damage or Marked Damage. Marked works on everything but you have to mark it first.

Yep it's fun to play heavy on normal and hardcore at least. Do boomshots and salvo work on insane difficulty? Turrets seem like a must so I used turret damage +40% and marked damage. Both skills lvl4. I think I'll play engineer next and try to do 50 waves insane. It just pisses me off when I try to play engineer and before first wave, a soldier decides to build a piece of barrier somewhere 😁 at that point you know 50 waves ain't gonna happen lol

edit. Oh and ever since marking was introduced in Gears I've developed a habit of marking everything I shoot. It's useful in versus and even more important in horde imo, not sure why people don't mark much.

Smart move. Turret and marked damage is the way to go with that build. Salvo can be done but in the right situation. Its tough to do but long range salvos are more devastating than turrets now thanks to the changes in turret accuracy. You are without armor though so its still risky. But make no mistake turret builds are still king and will probably always be. But its still a fun build that is still potent.

Turrets do provide good cover. Enemies do sick damage onwards from wave 31. I have lvl9 scout with 100% health boost etc and after playing Gears multiplayer I'm decent at avoiding damage and moving around but they still crush me in a heartbeat. I do like the idea of salvos, especially if the engineer would build a chunk of decoys to gather enemies in a good spot 😁

If anyone here wants to do those horde cheevos I'm ready to help.

I need to get back into playing some Gears again I hardcored it for a few weeks until I went on holiday but not played it for a month now :( Got to many games I've been trying to complete lol.

I'm glad other people mark targets I have always used it in Versus and it annoys me when there is 1 or 2 guys left and no one marks and then they get killed instead of marking them so we can all move on to the target. Lost/Almost lost so many games due to it as 1 decent player can pick off 3 people running around like headless chickens.

Yeah any class is better with a good engineer. I just finished a Hardcore Horde round and thanks to the engineer putting decoys in the right places I was able to unload a full 30 salvo shots into the Carrier while it was distracted. A couple of drop shots later and he was down. Which was good because there were only 3 of us for the last 20 waves. Bless those crazy engineers and their willingness to jump into cross fire to repair a decoy.

Well I finally decided to grab the CoD Infinite warfare legacy Edition and this is interesting... I never expected that it would require me to download 72GB to play Modern Warfare Remaster lol :(

The world has gone crazy!

Some more final impressions for various games:

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse

Excellent platformer that took me 8 hours to beat (100%). There are still some speed run achievements left and I see myself giving them a try, so in the end you're looking at a ~10 hours game, which is pretty good for both a platformer and a $20 indie game.
The metroidvania formula is well executed due to smart level design and upgrades that make past sections much easier to navigate. Graphics are charming, though limited due to the 3DS origin. Half-Genie Hero uses a much more modern style (as seen in the video in the post above). Music was nice as well but there's not a big variety. For example, every boss fight uses the same theme.
The game has challenging parts but it's no Shovel Knight (which IMO wasn't that hard either). Checkpoints are plentiful and you get an inventory system that lets you choose between various power ups in case you struggle.
I still felt the game was lacking something, but couldn't really figure out what.
8.5/10

Hue
A puzzle platformer about colors. It was an enjoyable experience and I got my 1000G in ~7 hours. My main gripe with the game however is the repetition of puzzles throughout the game. This comes from the rather limited possibilities of the main idea. Stuff (boxes, balloons, rocks etc.) have different colors. Change the background color to match one of them and the object becomes invisible, which in this world means you can also pass through it. Change the background color again and there it is again. In the end it all comes down to making stuff visible or invisible in the right order or at the right time.
The story is not very interesting. You're trying to find your mother who is lost in some kind of color dimension or whatever. Doesn't sound so bad but the story is only told through collectable letters that you get after every 5 levels or so. During these letters you're simply tasked to go through a section without any hazards until you find the exit.
I'm not that happy with the artstyle either. Hue and pretty much half the screen is black, while the other half has the color of you're choosing. It looks pretty depressing if you ask me. On top of that I had problems differentiating certain colors on my TV. Hue uses 8 colors and if you don't see them next to each other, you might have a real problem seeing the difference between pink/violett and orange/yellow.
Most achievements are story based but there's one for getting 28 collectable objects. They are designed that you can't get all of them in a section you haven't played before, as the color needed to get the collectable is a few levels further. It's not challenging to get them either, so it's just a cheap way to make people play through the same sections again.
The puzzles themself were quite alright. Most of the time you don't figure them out immediately, but when you think about them, you usually get an idea on how to proceed rather quickly. Except for maybe the last few levels you won't spend more than 10 minutes a puzzle.

Terraria
Don't even know if I already wrote anything about it or not. On 360 I tried the game for maybe 2 hours back when it came out and didn't like it that much. Now with the X1 version, not much has changed. I see massive mistakes that have been made with this game and it makes me angry, because this game could be much much better than it is.
Spent 10 hours with the X1 version and I probably won't touch it again.
My main issues with the game:
Enemy spawn. Why so many, why so often? It makes the singleplayer part almost unplayable when you can't move to a lower level when there are 7 hornets in a small area and as soon as you kill one, the next one spawns immediately. Then of course some blob follows you from above and you have to take care of him as well.
Difficulty. Far too hard. At least if you're playing alone. Also why not simply have a peaceful mode?
Controls. I don't like to say it, but this game needs a keyboard and a mouse. Constantly switching between precision mode and auto mode sucks, quickly building blocks around you to protect yourself from enemies is extremely annoying with a controller. Menuing sucks as well in this game.

The game does have way better monster fighting mechanics than Minecraft though. More weapons, dozens of different enemies etc. but it's ruined by the stuff mentioned above. Maybe the game is meant to be played in co-op but the same could be said about Minecraft and that's still fun in singleplayer.

I've been using the dropshot with the boomshot on my lvl 8 heavy as I find it much more accurate and headshots are so satisfying. Hardcore has been a breeze lately - still give insane a real try but randoms are so hit n miss I haven't been pass wave 10 yet due to so many quitters.

For me the best weapons for each class I find are; Scout/overkill, heavy/dropshot, soldier/hammer burst and sniper/embar - engineer I don't get much kills as I just run support in this class.

What annoys me other than randoms picking up power meant for scout is when the scout won't pick up during wave to get their double bonus and not leaving one alive so the scout can go around to get all the power before wave ends.
