Update on the FCC Filings for the new Xbox One's by the guy who found them

Both FCC filings I found seem(!) to be both for an Xbox One revision each and both coming out this year. Probably one slim and one even slimmer. One is marked "premium" in part names. Power button is now an analog one and the controller bind button is on the front (on the premium SKU at least). Premium one doesn't seem to be that much smaller.

New more powerful Xbox still coming next year. (which could also be the premium model but why have it tested already by the FCC when it comes out next year? That's why I think we will get two new Xbox One SKUs)

Oh btw. Tüv just tested a built-in power-supply for Microsoft.

Doesn't mean it's for an Xbox but it's possible.

One smaller than the other, sounds like a disc drive XB1 Slim and a discless XB1 Slim to me. Also sounds like the goal is to cut costs as much as possible, digital power button replaced by analog, cheaper external wireless adapter. It seems that Microsoft's goal is to make XB1 as cheap as possible in order to appeal to budget oriented consumers, instead of trying to fight Sony at the high end with an XB1.5 vs PS4K Neo scenario. I think MS is aiming for $250 with a disc drive, maybe $220 for the digital only model.

I think the new Xbox next year isn't Xbox 1.5, but Xbox 4, the start of a new gen. Sony will basically be locked into PS4K Neo for a few years or else they'll piss off their customers, so MS has an opportunity to release early and build up a 9th gen lead. And if they make Xbox 4 upgradeable, people can just upgrade it when PS5 releases to ensure game parity.

Wasn't there an unconfirmed rumor that MS is mass producing the X1 consoles since February? If that is true I think they manage to make it very cheap enough to do this and I would go far as say they made it cheap enough to make it $200 when the 2016 holiday season begins like how the 360 was at this price by its 4th holiday.

Lol at some believing that Halo 5 won't outsell Splatoon. People are obviously ignoring things.

I liked the digital power button...

That said, I agree, but an external wireless adapter? That's just dumb!

Discless console should be at least $100 cheaper. The company gets a lot of money from the digital store. It's not just about the cost of the disc drive.

Hm, honestly I know what to expect out of every game in that poll except ReCore, so I'll change my vote from Halo Wars 2 to ReCore for what MS game I'm most hyped to see.

Around the Network

I'm most hyped for Halo Wars, simply because I love RTS games, and have been really wanting one to play on my Xbox. Besides that, I'd say Scalebound, but with the delay is too far off for me to get all that worked up about it atm

With digital it will and it probaly will at retail eventually :P

I see a lot of excitement for Recore. I really hope we dont get disappointed with the gameplay...

@poll, obviously Gears of War 4 for me. Everything else is just extra goodies for me. Sea of Thieves might be a pleasant surprise, it looked nice and pirates are cool.

ReCore for the poll for me, Even though Gears 4 is the one I'm looking forward to most but we know how it plays so can't wait to see what ReCore will be :)
