Well, FH2 was announced in April of the year it released if I remember correctly, with the gameplay reveal at E3. So I'd expect something similar this year.

Nice. Definitely the most surprising game I played back in 2014. Was just going to try the demo, fell in love with it, and just pre-ordered it on Amazon.

I hope it's bigger, with the same kind of atmostphere. I do hope it's just for Xbox One, or PC too, no 360 port please.

They seem to have Forza every year, so I guess it's safe to assume we'll see it at E3

The more Witcher 2 I play, the worse it gets.
Chapter 2 is just terrible. Bad level design (dozens of doors and loading screens); useless map; wrong map markers; game has become a running simulator between the king's tents and any point outside the camp - Monsters don't respawn, so there is nothing to fight during these walks either; now the enemies are starting to cheat - the golem near the end of the chapter walks into my magical trap and is clearly paralyzed but he can sometimes still attack at pure random.

The prologue and the first chapter were quite good (while still having quite a few issues) but the game is really falling apart now. I can't see how this became ratings above 7/10. I certainly hope that Witcher 3 is an enormous improvement over this one.

I assume you're playing the 360 version? Witcher 2 was one of the most demanding PC games of the 7th generation, major sacrifices had to be made in order to run it on the aging 360, including significantly more doors/loading screens. I'll agree with you about bad map design, it did have issues with a poor map that were never fixed. I didn't really mind the lack of monster respawns, because Witcher is not the type of game where you can grind levels, killing enemies gives you far less experience than most other RPG's, so respawning monsters would have just arificially lengthened the game with no real reward imo. I picked Iorveth's path so I can't really comment on the Golem in Act 2, Iorveth's path has different things in it. I did watch a Youtube playthough of Vernon's path awhile back, and from what I can remember the design for it isn't as good as Iorveth's path, there's more running for instance which you already mentioned and I thought the quests and characters weren't as good personally.

It's funny, you mentioned that you liked the prologue and act 1 but not now the game is falling apart in Act 2, but for me it was the opposite, I found the prologue to be one big chore and didn't really care for Act 1, but I find Act 2(Iorveth) and Act 3 (Iorveth) to be great. Witcher 2 does have alot of issues as you mentioned, but for me at least the good combat system and good story/characters was enough for me to overlook those issues and give it a 9/10  (which is about the same as it's average on metacritic, 88).

You mentioned that you hope Witcher 3 is enormously better, and trust me, it is. The map design is much better, enemies respawn in locations, there are lots of fast travel points you can unlock so you don't have to walk everywhere, the combat is improved a good bit, there are far less loading screens (though some of them are fairly long on XB1 since XB1 has a slow 5400 RPM hard drive instead of a faster 7200 RPM drive, SSHD, or SSD), the story is better overall. I've never found a game that was a true 10/10 because every game has little issues that hold it back from deserving a perfect score imo, but Witcher 3 came really darn close to being a perfect 10/10 for me  (my main issue being that there are some decisions that seem really minor that can majorly effect the ending of the game for one of the main characters).

yeah the game doesn't really need respawnable enemies. It desperately needs a quick travel system.

I haven't played the PC version, so I don't know what compromises were made for the 360 version. Although I know that, if the game had been made from consoles from the start, there wouldn't be that many doors in the middle of nowhere (Other RPGs have shown that). And it's quite silly when you're in a mission where a companion is yelling "we need to hurry to get to x" and he and his 3 soldier friends go through a door one after the other while the whole door-open-and-close-animation is going on for every single one of these NPCs.

I'm not a fan of the combat system, which is thankfully a lot better than the atrocious one in the first Witcher.
Locking onto enemies with LT works only half the time. I understand when it doesn't work when I'm too far away but sometimes the enemy is really close and pressing LT does nothing at all during the first 5 or so seconds until it finally decides to do what it's supposed to do.

Other things I don't like include:
- so many houses to visit and finding absolutely nothing interesting in them. A terrible time waster that is especially annoying due to the loading screens.
- quest journal that is littered with main quests. It looks like you had a lot to do, but the others are just there to remind you that if you complete main quest A, you only then may to complete B, and then C, then D and then E. But whatever let's just put them in all at once, even though they are all clearly connected just to make it look like you had more of a choice.
- moving through the landscape is painful as Geralt can't jump at all, which results into annoying invisible walls alongside terrain with different altitudes.
- overpriced merchants
- even when playing as different characters you use the same Witcher health bar. Admittedly that's a small issue, but it feels a bit rushed or just lazy.
- NPCs are yelling the same line of dialogue over and over again every few seconds. So annoying when you do arm wrestling, fighting or just stand somewhere.

I sorta don't like Kim Wu's new design but her animations and combat style look sick.

Those who posted the Tenebrae news, I know the composer! He's the shit and doesn't get enough credit!

I'm hearing that next year MS plans to introduce a 3rd racing series into their rotation, so FH3 this year should be the last game in the series with 2 years of development. Hopefully they'll do something really cool for FH3 since we won't see FH4 until 2019 if the 3rd racing rumor is true. I know alot of people, myself included, want Japan for the setting, but considering Forza 6 didn't even get the Japanese tracks that Forza 4 had, it's unlikely we'll get a whole game in Japan. Australia would be nice too, it was one of the settings considered for FH2 before they decided on Southern Europe. I also hope they make use of DX12 to boost the graphics a good bit, I'd like to see FH3 at least come close to Driveclub graphics.

Would be a breath of fresh air if MS added a 3rd racing franchise to the mix. *cough* PGR pls *cough*

I don't think it will be PGR though, Phil has said multiple times that he thinks it's too similar to Horizon to revive it. Rally and F1 seem unlikely too since there are already lots of other Rally and F1 games on the market, another would cause oversaturation. Doesn't leave them with many options for the 3rd game. A kart game would be nice, either developed by Rare (1st party) or Sumo (2nd party), both have experience with Kart games already. MS has plenty of 1st party characters they could populate a kart game with.

That sucks :/, can't say I'm all that interested in kart racing games tbh. Haven't played one since Crash Nitro Kart on PS2 xD.
