Indeed, there is quite alot you can take from that:

-MS has either completed the design of the system, or at least created a working prototype of it. I doubt he would taken a bulky "PC in a giant case" devkit home with him, which likely means that he has a working console form factor system.

-The operating system is working and already allows connection with the XB1 ecosystem.

-All of the Xbox One games he plays have working backwards compatibility on Scarlett.

-He mentions an Elite controller, rather than saying that he has the new Scarlett controller. This either means that the Scarlett controller (and Scarlett Elite controller) aren't done yet, or that they are bundling the Elite V2 with Scarlett instead of designing a new controller. Most likely the former, the Elite V2 controller costs too much to bundle with a system that is likely aiming for $500 or less, and it would also lack features such as the haptic feedback of the PS5 controller, which MS has surely heard about by now and will want to have similar tech in their Scarlett controller.

I'm pretty confident they won't be shipping any console with the Elite controller but that was in to just say were already up and running with current gen accessories running on Scarlett. I think one of the other mains things about the timing of that tease is to shutdown all the Xbox is behind and has no devkits narrative that's been circling everywhere this past week.

Another potential thing about the "this week I brought my Project Scarlett console home" Is maybe made to say it's only one console rather than plural as that rumour of Lockhart resurfaced a few hours previous to his tweet with this been an a planned information leak to clear up a few things.

Ya, the takeaway on the controller to me was definitely more about, "your current X1 accessories that you paid good money for will still work."

Remedy shot that down earlier, but they could be just trying to throw off the scent.

I'd actually feel a little guilt playing that considering I've bought almost every remedy game since Alan Wake... So, alan wake with both DLC chapters, AW nightmare and Quantum Break.

Game pass needs some sort of donation function. Even if you could give a Dev $1-5, 100,000 people did that, it could really make an indie teams year.

Yeah I guess they don't want to see their sales being cannibalized during the holidays.

I don't see how Phil could have make a mistake like this.

Finished Gear 5 yesterday. Here are my thoughts:

The campaign is better than Gears of War 4, by a lot. Yet I still see some room for improvements. The final boss would be an example, but Gears isn't really known for amazing final boss fights. General Raam is still my favourite.

As mentioned earlier, the open world aspect could be improved by filling the empty landscape or simply scaling the size back a little.

I really like Kait as a main character but I feel that the connection to her mother, Myrrah and the Locust/Swarm could have been exploited a little more. It was well done in the first half of the campaign but not so much once you got to act 3.

Spoiler!

The part where Kait was controlling the Swarm was cool and I was pretty disappointed that this "ability" never returned. Maybe even using certain enemy types to battle the Swarm.

I'm also glad that I was right when I predicted that Myrrah would not physically return in the game.

Jack is a really useful teammate. Some of his abilities were life saving. Loved the Flash ability in combination with the Freeze power up. Sadly the other teammate AI is quite stupid. They managed to get stuck, barely killing enemies other than Juvies and didn't revive me when I was too close to a wall or other obstacle.

The visuals are great and the in-game cutscenes are fantastic. With a little more power the whole game could look like these. The realistic facial expressions are also some of, if not the best of this generation.

What else... pacing was much better in this game. They managed to create enemy encounters that didn't always have the same enemy types in it (looking at you Gears 4). Displaying health bars of tougher enemies is one of my favourite additions. I was never sure if I was even damaging them in Gears 4. I wasn't a fan of all these Horde mode encounters in the Gears 4 campaign but they could've added at least one of them for variety.

Overall the series is back to its former glory.

9/10

I voted no for the poll. Next gen I'll be getting a single system (it'll be team green coz Gamepass) so it'll either be Scarlett+Gamepass Ultimate or Anaconda+Gamepass Ultimate for the entire gen if it releases along side the base system. I spent way to much money on systems+games this gen, won't be doing that for the next one.

IF the pricing is right I might buy it. If it launches at $300, then I might wait for the holidays to get it at $200.

I voted no because unless something really bad happens in my life that affects me financially then I will be buying Scarlett day 1.

Pretty much this.

But at the end of the day, these are the answers we mostly have to expect from gaming enthusiasts on a gaming forum. Even the people here who are tight on money, are going to want the more powerful hardware, because all things being equal...of course that's what they want. The purpose of Lockhart, if it's to actually hit the market, is to be a compelling product to casuals, parents looking to get a console for their kids but save a few bucks doing so, kids saving up meager allowances to buy their own console, and perhaps it can be an enticing product to people looking to set up their home with multiple Xboxes (a Scarlett for their living room/main gaming area, and a couple of Lockharts for the bedrooms or something).

So Inxile are Working on a Single Player RPG game with “Action Elements” and a “PC-Focused Multiplayer Title” (this one is rumored to be Wasteland Spinoff).

Just hope that the Single Player game is 3rd person since Obsidians big RPG game is most likely to be in 1st person.
