I have mentioned them before but Gunfire Games the Darksider 3 devs have become a very promising studio, their latest game Remnant: From Ashes is currently on 77 meta rating.

They are one studio that MS should keep an aye on.

Less than 2 weeks ago, Gunfire Games was acquired by *drum roll* THQ Nordic.

Damn seems like everyone is getting bought out, also surprised that THQ didn’t buy them after DS3 maybe they waited after they finished Remnant since it was by a different publisher.

Meh.. I've played Gears POP for a while and now at 1200+ rating it's obvious the pay2win shit ruins a fun game. It seems plenty of people use money on games like this.

My list of acquisitions I'd like to happen, not in any particular order: Iron Galaxy (Fighting), Moon Studios (Platformer), IO Interactive (Stealth), Dontnod (Episodic), Asobo (Action-Adventure), Mistwalker (JRPG), Platinum (Action-Adventure), Remedy (Cinematic Action Adventure), I'm sure there's more I could think of but those are what come to mind right now.

Personally don't think Microsoft needs anymore UK studios, between Rare, Playground and Ninja Theory I think they have enough, I would like for them to get a European studio outside of UK to show they're willing to make investments in Europe outside of UK, Mojang doesn't really count...

I'm becoming more unsure what Japanese studios to buy, I originally said White Owls but only because I want them to finish D4 or do other episodic content, D4 is unlikely since neither party own the IP, and if Dontnod were possible then they would be a better acquisition for episodic content, which would be perfect for Gamepass.

There's Mistwalker which would require massive staffing up but fill the JRPG gap, although their HQ is in Hawaii, Arc System Works is one that gets thrown around but if Microsoft were to get a fighting studio I'd much rather prefer it to be Iron Galaxy. Possibly Grounding Inc and Mistwalker/Jp Games (For JRPG) would fill some gaps nicely.

Moon Studios already rejected offers so that's unlikely, IO Interactive I think would be beneficial to both parties, they'd fill a genre gap for Microsoft and in turn have more funding themselves, Asobo looks like an interesting studio but I believe they signed up with another publisher, Platinum is a dream and unlikely to happen, Remedy is probably last on my list since they would cost almost $200m which Idk if it would be worth it for how long they typically take to develop games, though Control came out fast and is getting great scores, and Microsoft could do with more cinematic action adventure titles.

Do not count Moon studio out just yet.  MS probably would just need to sweeten the deal better.  It appears MS has a pretty sweet deal already for their acquisitions so maybe giving Moon more freedom revenue and outs out of their agreement would get them to go first party.  If anything, MS should keep them 2nd party with enough work to keep them happy.

I think Moon are unlikely to be acquired because they're not a typical studio, Everyone is scattered across the world and communicate through skype. I'm not sure this model can work with a corporation like MS.

In today's development environment this isn't a problem.  Most development teams now a days do not all sit in the same office instead they collaborate using video conference, Skype or similar tools, GIT etc.

I’m most excited about Ninja Theory well at least the future single player action games that they are known for. With multiple teams they are going to have a big impact on Xbox.

My most Wanted list of Acquisitions.

PlatinumGames, Remedy, 4A, IOI, Dontnod, Cyberconnect.

I’ll keep on praying for Platinum to happen they have a better track record than all of the studios I listed and it would suck if MS missed the chance at them and someone else got them.
