I feel like there is actual optimism around Xbox right now. There hasn't been any since the start of the year but I feel it's starting to bubble up. If the x can have a good launch, and the s gets aggressive bundling/pricing it could be a good holiday. Then next year comes and assuming no delays and halo/horizon4 release it will be Xbox ones best year for exclusives by far. Plus marketing to anthem and the best looking version of rdr2.
At next e3 hopefully ms will be able to tease some future big projects that we have heard about for 2019 to drum up even more excitement.

I think it's going to be a good 1 1/2 years for the Xbox team and it starts with the X. Hopefully it does quit a bit better at launch than the pro(it did about 250k in first npd). Good launch plus sustained numbers from all the 2018 goodies could really turn some heads in upper management and maybe they will loosen up the checkbook.

Microsoft needs to knock 2018 E3 out of the park no more messing around, having Halo 6 and possibly Horizon 4 is a great start since you know that these games will actually be pushing the console graphically.

The Xbox One S is the best value console this generation if we're just looking at what it offers without exclusives. No doubt about that. Xbox One X is a really good console for the price, Microsoft is probably making very little to no profit on the console alone because of the specs per price.

That being said, I honestly kind of wish these "half generation" leaps didn't exist. Would love if Xbox reset in 2018. I get that a 5 year span would look bad, but i'm really optomistic for their next generation if there is one.

What's the point of a 2018 reset? Its not like they will magically gain a shit ton of new exclusives. The games that they would have put for a new Xbox could have still came out on the Xbox One.

Also I'd the 1X is $500 and a midgen console a new gen Xbox next year with better spec would probably be $200+ more expensive than the 1X.

So guys, I was wondering, Phantom Dust is free for everyone, right? Or do you need Xbox Live Gold for it?

I think it's free for everyone. Microsoft store doesn't say anything about Gold.
