I really feel like it has to launch fairly soon as in a full release in Q1 or Q2 of 2018 at the latest otherwise I could see it been a Fable Legends where it gets stuck in an early access/closed beta stage and the developments cost end up so high that it would bleed money how ever well it does.

Tbf Early Access didn't exist on Xbox back then so Fable Legends had no way of making money out of it's Beta, Now Sea of Thieves can just launch it's Open Beta via Early Access and price it at a lower price than the final game which would give them an extra flow of money, I just see no way the final game is launching Early 2018 so that's what I think they'll do, other games like Gigantic have launched their Open Betas via Early Access too and people clearly don't care about paying for games on EA It will look bad on the studio for taking forever to release a damn game though, need to kick that 2nd team into gear.

Yea It probably won't but I just don't want to see them having some real long early access period where it ends up going way into 2019 before they decide to give it the full launch status especially since it was supposed to be a Fall 2017 release. Did they just overshoot the planned release or did they decide to put extra into development for a bigger overall ambitions for the game?
Give it a weekend long open beta in February followed by an early access launch in March for $40 then a full launch in June/July would be what I'd like to see. Not been in the Alpha though i can't fully get a grasp of how complete or lacking the game currently feels or how much of the game they are actually letting people play compared to how much is complete but not been put out there for testing.
