Idk if I believe Phil. They are only Doing 4K updates to a couple games even though they repeatedly say how easy it is to do. Either 1) they don't want to support the XOX very well or 2) they don't have the budget to do so. Either way it doesn't look good. Where's the sunset overdrive, gears ultimate, QB, mcc, h5, recore, and below 4K treatment. I'm just at a loss about it.

And I can't get over it being 500$. That puts them in a really bad place. They should have went the pro route for 399 in 2016 or if they wanted to go with 500$ put it out march 2018 with ryzen so that it could play ps5/Scorpio 2 games. Instead they are too expensive to compete with the pro, thus causing lack of effort and support, and too week to play next gen games(the only way they will is if Sony tries to force ps4pro as a entry level next gen console). That makes the box a mid-gen upgrade only that is 150$(by release) over the competition that won't sell.

we all know Microsoft has cut funding to Xbox and with another failure they might very well pull out. I don't see how this doesn't fail to sale. is Xbox profitable cause that's the only thing that could save it going forward, and maybe that's all they want out of the XOX before they move onto next gen.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

I believe him. There were games on his watch that needed a long time to make. Had these games came out on time the portfolio would look way different and teams would now be working on sequels or other games. I think the division is fine. The games have to sell now.

Well, I believe him that he doesn't want to show games too early anymore. Scalebound was a disaster and it hurt them a lot and games change way too much when you show them too early. They could have easily shown some Halo 6 or other stuff already just for the sake of it and people would like this E3 more because of it.

I just don't know if it is true when he says " I do think we have an opportunity to get better in first-party and to grow. We've got great support from the company to go do that."

I mean, first of all I find it weird that he said he put all the effort in hardware the last years and then Live and now software. Why would you wait some more years to let your studios grow and produce more quality games when you know that this is a big problem, the output of your studios?

Sure, XBO was blamed to be too weak and that's what he wanted to change but how in the world can you wait some years to put more time and money in the studios when "We've got great support from the company to go do that"?

And then all the marketing which Sony got. I just don't believe he wouldn't have deals for FarCry or FIFA or whatever if he would have a lot of money to invest.

So, I think it's true he waits longer to show games simply because he believes that is better but I don't believe yet that he has such a great support by MS that he can invest more in their studios.

This "I can only put my time of some years in better hardware or software output" is just a weird message.

I believe Scalebound, Fable Online and some other projects like Kinect really made a dent on their budget and their credibility within MS. They're on thin ice with us now because we're not seeing the radical changes we were lead to believe with the change in leadership.

I want to believe that he's restructuring 1st party and software development but I'm all see to believe now.

Today we'll see Crackdown 3 on the show floor I think. They'll reveal more about the campaign and other details.

Eh I guess they want to do the big and recent ones first and slowly add (some of) the others at a later time. It depends on how good these patches are going to be. Changing resolution from 900p to 4k? Easily done, but adding higher resolution textures, improving shadow and light quality etc. is going to take longer. Especially when they can't use the already created elements from the PC versions.

Just read Sony's conference... Not the bomb everyone was hyping. I mean they didn't show new games and showed pretty much everything from last year. Not hyped for GoW, Spiderman looks good. But I mean... I have to give the edge to MS in holiday releases

Lucky/Forza 7/Crackdown vs. Knack/GT/Ni No Kuni Probably missing some things, but I prefer the MS lineup of exclusives. I'll give a half a point better to Sony's E3 overall. So far this year hasn't been that great. Nintendo please save us

They just need to announce a new Metroid and it's an instant win.

Well looks like they won lol

Gotta say that Nintendo is making all the right choices for the Switch right now, even bringing out the big guns with a Pokemon console RPG by gamefreak.

BTW can someone ask Phil why a Real Reborn isn't on the XB1 yet? especially after they made a 180 with their crossplay stance allowing it for Minecraft & Rocket League.

I believe the developers of that game want cross-play with everything if they bring it to a certain platform and since Sony is being awkward about cross-play they obviously can't bring it to Xbox One, I mean, they could but then either Xbox One would have to be cross-play with everything except PS4 or Xbox One cross-play with nothing which the developers don't want to do.

Weird considering that Rocket league on PS4 is crossplay with PC & now it has been announced that the Xbox/Switch/PC version will all be crossplay with each other. Hopefully they announce a Switch version in the future and make it crossplay with Xb1.

I'm glad Sony didn't have a good conference it shows the hypocrisy of certain users on this site. Also glad some here admit that their rating for MS's conference was too low it was a decent even without at least one new AAA announcement. Then again this generation is filled with game announcements made too early and I believe MS notice this and they pointed this out.
