Forums - Nintendo - do u turn off your wii u or just leave it on standby?

I leave it on standby. There are National Resource Defense Council reports that show that the Wii U standby mode and unplugged are about the same. This means that standby uses next to no electricity so I feel there is no need to unplug it. If it was using power like one of the twins I'd be unplugging it the second I powered it down.

interesting, do you still have the link of the report?

I got some charts but I have no idea how to put them up. Here's a link to the NRDC report.

thanks for the info.

if all the calculations in the report is accurate, that means we have almost no point to turn it off

Pull the plug out. I have it in my bedroom and the disc-in white light is so damn bright during night.

During day time it can stay in standby.

I like the auto update feature
