Forums - Nintendo - Should Splatoon have more than 4 people per team?

I noticed in the Oil Rig map that there is like whole minutes where you will not see a single other person. The map is rather large and spread out that only 4 people per team really makes it hard to have any type of combat in the map, while still trying to cover the map with ink. For the warehouse. It was much better balance of combat and ink covering. I would say that map can get away with only 4 people. Though more might have been better. But after watching some preview videos of like that skate park, it looks like 4 people kind of makes that rather large maps... a bit empty at times. Kind of concerns me a bit. Has anyone else noticed this?

I can't say yet, due to not having the full game to try out. but I would have to say, making it 5 vs 5 might not have been a bad idea. or maybe even more. Though, I think Splatzone might be best with only 4 people. But, I could be wrong.... No way to test it out.

Any other opinions?

I also thought the salt spray rig was too big. I had a lot more fun in the wall eye warehouse where it was easier to control the map.

Nope, I think 4 players per team is a really good number. Each teammate is important but balanced so there isn't too much clumping needed.

The maps seem to be designed around 4 teams so no imo.

You learn something new every day.

Nah. They can save that for Spla2n on NX. 6 on 6 would be about perfect with bigger maps. But the problem is that since they wait until its full every time, then it will be a bigger task to get a full group. That would be the biggest issue.

Ah, gosh, that pun. It's so fitting with the game though.

But seriously though, ever since the game was announced one of my biggest hopes was 4 team battles, that would be SO intense! Really wish they bring that in sequels.

True dat!! That would be awesome for new mode and hopefully, they implement it in the sequel

Technical problems aside, more people would take away some of the strategy of the game.It would be top chaotic.Of course, it depends how large the other maps are, but for most 4 people do the job.And knowing how to spread the team is also part of the game.Though i wouldnt mind a "8 player smash" mode.Pure chaotic fun

Yeah Crazy is Fun. I wouldnt mind if they release a new mode ( expecially with all the free updates we will be getting ) where in someway they done that.

Pocky Lover Boy!

4vs4 is great, I think it would be very interesting to see 4vs4vs4vs4 on next game and console (of course with much bigger maps).

Now 4vs4 game is so much fun, but 4vs4vs4vs4 would be madness. :)

4v4 is just fine for now.but if there would be bigger maps and free DLC with 8v8 game modes. I'm up for it.

While there could be a gamemode with more than 4-players per team ( On the bigger maps, obviously), I don't think the default amount of people per team should be higher.
